Should be a red anyway. When you see the red Schar got last year for much less it’s understandable that the refs get so much criticism for lack of consistency.

I’m not sure how much is him. I remember at full time away to Burnley after finishing 4th he said there wouldn’t be much change. The likes of Wilson etc all had decent sell on value but we held on and they left for free. We cans do that when in this building phase. Even Man City sell players

The lesson to learn as a club is to trade earlier. We chose to hold on to players rather than trade during those windows and the team grew old and stale. Villa as an example have the same obstacles but choose to trade and refresh their squad. Howe instinctively doesn’t want to do that

It’s such a shame. Genuinely like the bloke and I’m grateful for what he’s achieved but we’ve reverted to Bruce and McLaren level of performances. This is a real test for the club to see if they act quickly and have a replacement lined up

There is no doubt about Howe. His time is up. Totally bereft and devoid of any ideas or inspiration

Do you think there is any point in delaying the inevitable? We are a zombie team now so we may as well start the process early to find his replacement

They will write books about our summer transfer window as a prime example of getting everything wrong. Absolutely horrific recruitment

He’s played for relegated teams for the last 2 seasons so it’s hardly a surprise. Pope has also been horrific this season to be fair

They stopped playing for the manager some time ago. He said it himself yesterday that they aren’t playing how they have been told. Not sure what there is to lose by sacking him tonight. Got to be better than this turgid rubbish he’s serving up

If they have downed tools we need to ask why? What has happened to make them stop listening to Howe and the coaches? And if they have then why select them? I’d fully back the manager if he decided to drop them due to their attitude and application, that includes Murphy too

Did how make them do it when they were doing all of these things properly? Did he deserve all of the credit he got when we did have the mentality and shithousery? Can’t take the credit if further down the line he isn’t held accountable. Can’t have it all ways

25 points lost from winning positions and only 1 game won from a losing position. 11 goals conceded in injury time. That is a mentality issue that stems from the manager but blame it all on individual errors if it helps

It’s a risk either way. Who is to say this trend doesn’t continue if Howe stays and we end up relegated like Bournemouth were in his last season? My preference is for him to turn it around but I see no evidence that he will

I see where you are coming from. My major concern is that I see no sign of improvement, no sign that we are learning from mistakes, no adjustment other than play our record signing striker out of position rather than find a way to build an attack around him. There are lots of other examples

Regardless of the personnel we can’t hide from 25 dropped points from winning positions and only 1 game won from a losing position. Whatever the shenanigans with DOF or CEO etc these are coaching issues. Conceding late goals so often isn’t on the executive structure.

Unfortunately he seems to be stuck in a rut where he doesn’t seem willing to trust himself or the players to try something different. He’s got nothing to lose by changing things now to be honest.

Even if he does get his energy back and reinvigorate the squad with a lighter schedule I still have grave concerns that it will be rinse and repeat once we have a heavier schedule again. I am not sure that his high intensity football is really sustainable medium and long term

Same happened with Wilson. Had a prime opportunity to sell him but held on too long. Could have got our full money back on trippier to Bayern. Howe isn’t an instinctive trader, he’s a hoarder and is paying the price for being too loyal now as it’s gone so stale

Maybe there aren’t any with a higher potential ceiling than Howe but he’s nowhere near that right now. There are plenty of managers who would be an improvement on this version of Howe

To be fair it is easy to argue that pound for pound Glasner has done just as well if not better given the resources available.

The club has made mistakes but Howe and his loyalty to players hasn’t helped his cause. This is encapsulated by Murphy. Howe improved him and he had a purple patch but should have been moved on ages ago for a decent fee to reinvest

A new manager will get a tune out of some of these players. Howe did it when he came but at a certain point players stop listening and responding. They don’t look like they are motivated at all now

The problem is that there is no evidence being shown that he can do anything about it. The poor game management points to coaching and motivation. Unfortunately it looks like his race has been ran at nufc

He got the praise when the players had the attitude to run through brick walls for him. This is the flip side. The players look like they have given up caring and it shows in brainless penalties like that

Right on cue. Been coming

Reminds me of a game against West Brom that ended 0-0 towards the end of Bruce time at the club. No sign of any improvement or energy at all

It’s this premier league proven mantra that bothers me. Got to ask why there was no competition for Elanga and Wissa in particular. We had a free run at both for a reason.

I was 11 when we sold waddle, those days really hurt. I was relaxed about Cole because I trusted Keegan to reinvest, he’d have resigned on principle if not. I’m fine with the current owners selling because I trust them to invest as much as the rules allow as they have done so far

Maybe some fans. I’m old enough to remember selling players I liked and cared about way more than Isak.

Big test for the new structure because Eddie might not necessarily agree with the club decision to sell a certain player. Will he be able to accept decisions for the greater good of club development? And will Wilson have the balls to drive his decisions through?
