And did it help?

And what a lizard at that!
Never heard of a tornado drill.
I'm happy for everything to close.
These days, I think the best user experience on a desktop environment is GNOME with Dash to Panel, ArcMenu and Tiling Desktop extensions installed.
(Yeah thatβs right, a Linux based desktop environment beats Mac and Windows, hands down)
Like Iβve said, the late MacOS is a bit of a dogs breakfast. I believe the main person responsible for the design decisions in Tahoe has departed.
Hopefully theyβll get their design philosophy back on the rails again.
Albo gives a good speech.
I enable Caffeine while I have the Sunshine server running (network game streaming server).
Means that I can let the system idle, and not worry about it sleep before I get around to connecting my Moonlight client.
When Sunshine is not running I prefer a regular desktop power policy.
Hehe. Yes essential!
I also have Kiwi Menu, but I don't really use it.
Caffeine is also a good one. Adds a button to prevent your system from going to sleep.
Totally agree, the freedom to choose is very liberating. Its amazing how much enjoyable using your computer is when you feel like it's YOUR computer.
Also, the bugs I refer to are always annoying things. Like if I have an app icon panel on multiple monitors, if I make a change, it doesn't apply to all monitors. I usually have to delete the panel, and re-clone it. Also, while its improved a lot, the KDE panel customisation interface still sucks :P
KDE in general, amazing work, amazing desktop. Better defaults too. Have I tried to daily drive it? Many times.
Sadly I find it buggy and rough around the edges, it always feels off. There is so much customisation, but despite that, I still can't get it as satisfying and useful as my Gnome desktop.
I don't develop on QT so I don't know what it is like to work with, but as a user, I don't prefer the feel of many QT apps. Totally subjective opinion. And there are so many exceptions. I just think that GTK tends to have better consistency. Again, subjective, and always exceptions.
I really don't like the default Gnome experience, its opinionated and my opinion doesn't align with Gnome's.
Install Dash2Panel, ArcMenu, Tiling Desktop and a couple of small others and it is ππππ
Transforms the desktop experience, and retains the elegance and consistency Gnome is known for.
Gnome being non-customisable is a bit of a myth. If you use Extensions then you get huge levels of control. My Gnome desktop barely resembles the default experience :-)
AFAIK Gnome merged Wayland DRM leasing in 2024. However, at the time I do understand why Valve went with KDE. Gnome was slow to do a lot of things and it cost them. Client side window decorations being a prime example.
Oh. You're using Gnome! Nice. No shade on KDE but too many people just default to it.
I really want to play around with that Sony PDA
Nice suit
Youβre outside their sphere of awareness
No shame in being a lizard
Thatβs an amazing difference π
Generate content please. Lots of it.
Itβs funny how sometimes an obvious career decision can be such a hard one to make.
Goodness, I am so untrustworthingly neutral! Guess it's obvious which way I'm voting.

Thinking of all those in Myanmar and Thailand (plus other earthquake affected areas). Please stay safe.
Plenty of other home grown sources of interference
Canadian and Aussie elections set to be held somewhat nearby each other. It will be interesting to see what direction both countries go in.
(Aussie one not announced yet but it has to happen on or before 17 May)
I built a Playstacean!
