the main reason to be on there imo is that its cool not having your social media posts owned by a corporation but its not enough by itself as a hook

ive spent the last 6 months trying to engage people not already on there for whom that is a draw to start a new server together, its a tough sell

i love mastodon because its more focussed on building community and chatting to people than having the hottest take of the day and it just feels overall more like a pub than the worlds biggest slagging match

Incredibly disappointing from @theproudtrust.bsky.social, who took away our only non profit queer space in the city centre and now are evicting grassroots organisers who are trying to reinstate it. Without this, The Proud Place isn't an LGBT community centre, it's an office space with gay branding.
