Tonight’s watch, in the ongoing quest to educate #1 son in all the ‘80s ‘classics’ - it really holds up, genuinely eerie and unsettling, with a welcome absence of cgi and drone shots. Every monk distinctive and NPC worthy! And *of course* Connery is fantastic 😁.

Well that was a whole heap of foul mouthed, grim, gruesome, filthy and hilarious fun! But, once again, injected with real heart, pathos and social commentary. @joeabercrombie.com’s ability to do that is pretty amazing. Onto the next volume!

Just discovered that Mrs S was more into Star Wars bitd than she’s ever let on! These are a bit of a time capsule from 1977 Sweden. Particularly love the scrapbook, full of carefully curated pics from different magazines (it’s clear that 12 year old Mrs S had a bit of a thing for Mark Hamill 😂).

Recommend this to anyone who likes slow burn psychological horror with a liberal sprinkle of ‘the other’, real world resonance and amazing art.

It made me feel very powerful 😂
