Republicans play stupid games, win stupid prizes. As Dems, keeping our morals is good (kicking Swalwell out). But I'm willing to compromise on some norms/ethics around gerrymandering to save our democracy.

He does this literally every weekend. Why does the market believe him over and over?

I printed out several dozen sheets and taped them up to my wall once. From this, I learned that if you can afford to pay the local copy shop to do a real print out, you will be a lot less frustrated.

Stop platforming liars on TV and print. Stop putting the words you know are lies in the headlines and then explaining that they might not be true in paragraph three.

This is a batshit crazy post.

We’ve also gone from:

- Vance is going
- no he’s not
- yes he is

In a period of 3 hours. Incoherent psychobabble.

The strait has been a particular source of frustration. Before the U.S. went to war, Trump told his team that Iran’s government would likely capitulate before closing the strait, and that even if Tehran tried, the U.S. military could handle it, The Wall Street Journal has reported. Some of the president’s advisers were caught off guard that tanker traffic would grind to a halt so quickly after the bombing began, according to a person in contact with the White House.

Trump has since marveled at the ease with which the strait was closed. A guy with a drone can shut it down, Trump has said to people, expressing belated irritation that the key waterway was so vulnerable. He has publicly oscillated between demanding support from allies to help open it and insisting that the U.S. doesn’t need or want military assistance.

Trump was warned abt Strait.
He ignored those warnings.
Now he confesses he was wrong.

Listening to Trump is always a game of
1) is he lying
2) is it the dementia
3) did he not pay attention in briefings and is getting things mixed up
4) all of the above

The recent news of former Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax killing his wife Dr. Cerina Fairfax and then committing suicide sure does put more weight on the sexual assault allegations from a few years ago.

Innocent until proven guilty is about whether the government can throw you into jail. Above suspicion is what we should be aiming for in our leaders.

Yes
1) pattern of going after multiple young women he had power over is disqualifying even if consensual
2) multiple accusers show the same pattern of unsolicited inappropriate messages
3) rape victim told people around her when it happened in 2024 (verified by CNN)
All that and now 2nd rape accuser

I said the same thing when I read the original CNN report. I am sorry that my suspicions seem to be correct.

Not just rape, drugging her and raping her, which puts additional questions about whether that's what happened in the previous alleged rape (as opposed to alcohol)

I wish my suspicions were wrong, but a separate woman has now come forth publicly and accused Swalwell of drugging her drink and raping her in 2018. (One glass of wine, so she wasn't drunk. Remembers not being able to move. Told people at the time.) www.instagram.com/reel/DXHzntu...

It stops for that campaign, but not for the 100 others that have bought your info. Act Blue may have been the start of people getting my phone numbers years ago, but removing it didn't help. This is something the Dems need to propose some answers to. I get 5 texts a day, my mom gets 20.

No, I'm talking salary+bonus+stock. I can't prove that issues didn't happen at other companies. But across multiple divisions of my big company during the 21 years I managed people, it was equal.

As a person who used to manage a combo of citizens, H1-B holders, and green card holders, I can tell you they were paid the same and that I did not know who was which for the last two categories. Also, when H1-Bs renew, the company has to show they're paying them the same as citizens.

Regret to inform everyone that Peter Magyar beat the world’s smartest illiberal populist in large measure by working incredibly hard for 2 straight years, meaning the rest of us are just going to have to get off our asses and do shit rather than just complaining.

She has not gone public, so it is impossible that you saw an interview with her. CNN reviewed text messages that she sent about it just a few days after the incident (back in 2024). CNN also spoke to friends and family she told back then.

But dropping Swalwell from that calculation decreases the likelihood of that outcome because there are fewer Dems to split the Dem vote.

CNN was clear about what they had corroborated. Eg, that the victim making the rape allegations told a friend a few days after. Their story wandered a bit between the four women, so I wanted a table, but that's probably just me. Within each story they noted what parts they could corroborate.

Contrary to public perception a huge % of pregnant teenagers in the 1990s were impregnated by adult men. The younger they were, the larger the average age gap between mother and father was. Fixing teen pregnancy was in part a clampdown on statutory rape. That's what conservatives want to reverse.

Main Street (just south of the park) is a cute area, but is annoying to park in. That starts to make the light rail more of an upside for me compared to driving (from another part of the Eastside). I like Third Culture Coffee and 520 Bar and Grill.
