Not sure why, but I find myself actively searching out daily bunny to make sure I haven't missed one. If you had described the concept to me, I would have said "meh ..", but there's something about it that I find soothing.
I need "soothing" these days.
King snake came to visit today.
Achievement unlocked -- south wal rim form in place
A peer reviewed study shows a promising link between flu and shingles vaccines and a reduced risk of dementia. A heroin addict who cut off a raccoon’s penis for “further study” says these vaccines cause autism. For busy Americans, it can be hard to know who to trust.
Token Two
"Cat and Mouse" by Ry Cooder, from "My Name is Buddy".
"My Name is Buddy" is a concept album about a socialist cat's journeys through dustbowl-era America. Well worth sitting down and listening to straight through.
It shows sometimes. Responsible engineers won't do that
"Teen births have crashed 81% since 1991" should be the best news that anyone has heard today.
A medieval war scene, with the quote "Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest".
My feelings on Popes and Republicans, summarised succinctly.
Remember Mutually Assured Destruction? If it could be made to apply to a battle between religious leaders and the Republicans, I'd be ecstatic.
Is it that bad for you under-65s? I've upped to a quarterly COVID vaccination schedule. The pharmacists try to tell me that it won't be approved, but the system approves it every time.
#Writestuff The one that still makes me boil a bit is the ending of "Better Call Saul". They tried to make some kind of redemption arc, but to me it just blew it. Jimmy would never do that. Not in a million years.
#Writestuff I've already mentioned Rabbit Angstrom, and my short list would include Howard W Campbell Jr and Eliot Rosewater, both Vonnegut creations.
#WriteStuff A4 Bipolar. I've had people praise it, and had people condemn my work for the lack of it.
Trying to take the feedback on board, I think I need to work a bit more on background characters.
#WriteStuff A3 This is harder to answer than I would expect. It's easy to snipe at Edgar Rice Burroughs, so I guess I will: if anyone could tell the difference between John Carter, Carson Napier, and David Innes, they're paying attention to something that I couldn't see.
#WriteStuff A2 John Updike. It was hard to like Rabbit Angstrom, but I followed his story for three decades, in four novels and a novella, and I feel like I know Rabbit better than I know anyone.
#WriteStuff A1 The point where the behaviour of the characters seems believable not just because it's plausible, but because it's consistent with an understanding of the character's previous behaviour, motivations, and belief system. Predictable, but in a good way.
Tonight is one of those nights that I bear an uncanny resemblance to the host. I feel obligated to show up.
Progress
Tuesday night on #WriteStuff: characterisation.
I pride myself on not repeating songs, but I'll break the rules for this one: Chip Taylor, writer of "Wild Thing", died a couple of weeks ago. In his honour, here's Joe Ferry and his Big Ska Band.

Thanks for the info ...

I nearly forgot the Doug Anthony All-Stars --- usually a comedy group, but very talented when they care to show it.
The Fargone Beauties's guitarist, Terry Murray, sat in with Judi Connelli on the only worthwhile gospel cover of "Stairway to Heaven".
The only other groups that stuck with me from my visits there are Vika&Linda ...
If you want exposure to Australian groups, JJJ's "Like a Version" channel is probably the best place to start. Not pure Australian by any means, but they are well-represented.
The Fargone Beauties are one of the best bands Australia has ever produced.
