There are many things I’m very proud of as a Canadian. MANY things. But every time I watch another media story about another ambitious push in renewable energy from China, I’m embarrassed that Canada isn’t aggressively working to quickly become a true global powerhouse in renewable energy.

if my fellow Canadian settlers think reading the whole TRC Report (executive summary linked below) is too much work, may i suggest instead listening to SNRK's entire "Red Future" album & looking up the lyrics

Everyone can enjoy good music. A person with good taste won’t enjoy bad music. An ironic person will enjoy bad music because they feel superior to it. A cynic will enjoy bad music because they wanted it to disappoint them. A person with bad taste will enjoy bad music in a way that is pure.

the media is now telling people to work from home to save on gasoline, immediately after their years-long crusade to tell us why returning to office is best for everyone. this isn't a gotcha, it's an example of how contradicting demands allow the ruling class to blame us no matter what we do

What’s the longest car ride that you’ve been a part of?

Mine is probably from Victoria to Montreal for a Grand Prix week, which was a very epic trip for a car nerd.

(it's about a 4800km trip, so for a more familiar scale to our US friends, imagine driving to New York City from Seattle)

A geo political puppet show 😂. When they call it a “special military operation” and not a war it is ripped from the Russian playbook.

I was being completely earnest and thought that Atkinson as a secret agent would be hilarious.

I'm looking forward to seeing those now, thanks for that.

I would pay actual money and sit in a theatre to watch Rowan Atkinson play Bond.

If they give him a Mini instead of an Aston Martin, even better.

winter sun shines high above a circular still water tank at a sewage treatment plant. The sky is blue with puffy clouds and brick buildings are on the distant horizon. the sky and sun reflect off the water in the tank. the foreground seemingly connects to the distant buildings as a catwalk on the left extends from out-of-frame bottom towards the horizon.

sewage is water with life experience.

it reflects the choices we make and carries with it the residue of our yesterdays and years.

it can unsettle us—until we realize it was once a part of us. our pasts make us who we are today.

and can inspire us to be better tomorrow.

One could even measure a snowfall by the kind of dog it would inconvenience, which would be a scale starting around corgi and then beagle, and progress upward in size...

Special case: zero snow is an amount of snow that *dramatically* inconveniences a husky.

Bluesky was literally meant to be a cryptobro social network for grifters, LinkedIn sludge, and libertarians who know way too much about age of consent laws.

Jack Dorsey *left* when instead of weird and off-putting cryptonerds, trans people started hanging out here.

Y’all did you know that you are allowed to bring personal alcohol onto Amtrak trains, and drink it while aboard? Why are we tolerating airlines and their shoddy behavior when we could be getting drunk in a sleeper car?
