36% on Iran seems high until you remember that in 2006 — the nadir of the Iraq war/insurgency — the Iraq war was still at 44% approval, and by 2013 still only 53% said it was a mistake. So the fact that Trump is *already* worse than those numbers on Iran is actually very impressive.
