so we actually have these stores all over the place in iran. and I’ve been calling it a nuttery when describing it to friend for the past 10+ years. today, it dawned on me that what if it should be a nutteria instead???

would a store that solely sells nuts be called a nuttery or nutteria?

you pick something you desire (X) and then you write “I refuse to have X because I deeply fear that I…” and then you keep writing because… over and over again then throw away the paper to tell your mind to not hold on to the fear.

EK’s deepest fear inventory is such a powerful exercise.

nice to see bluesky give “posts count” the value it deserves.

I’m also very curious about the nature of reality and consciousness and meditation feels like a good entry way to getting more first hand insight into that.

that all feels like the tip of the ice berg and I’m curious to learn more and get to even more equanimity. but I haven’t yet landed on a form of meditation that is pleasurable enough to become a habit

I’ve got to a lot of equanimity from doing down-regulated breathwork and learning to feel my emotions fully (learning how even negative emotions could feel good in the absence of resistance) and how transient they can be when felt fully.

@nickc.bsky.social if you had to start again with meditation, knowing what you know, where would you start? I’ve been looking to get back into meditation and would like to land on something enjoyable so it sticks. what would you recommend?

most of the most amazing connections I’ve formed in the last 3+ years have come from twitter in one way or another. I love my friends.

I’ve also been in a relationship with 12 years so I have a lot of opinions about the workings of a long term relationship.

I like delving deeper and deeper into the inner workings of myself and other humans. it’s the most satisfying hobby I’ve ever had. I’m really into self-love. I like breathwork, ifs, VIEW, EK etc. i also love movement, climbing, 5rhythms and strength training.

since we’re starting from scratch, here’s a thread about me:

I’m anita or some friends call me neats. your friendly neighbourhood iranian, raised in london. somewhere along the software engineer to hippie pipeline. like most of you curious nerds, I’m obsessed about learning how to live a good life.
