These are from original reds. Now exhibiting color differentiation. We have serveral reseeded annuals in our year 2 garden. But this is the first to exhibit color variance.

#garden is overflowing this year with wild strawberry blooms. They are tiny flavor bombs but beyond delicate. Can not even be stacked. Was crossed with european strains to create modern day fruit.

They are and old flower. Back to early egypt. Scary thing. These are a month early.

Red cornflower. These are reseeds from last year. Only had a few viables. This year they are everywhere.

Medicinal uses are for eye infections. Highly astringent. Flowers are edible garnsishes. Were used to add color to dishes. Typically blue.

Their recipes are slaw and the videos I have seen are stupid. But I now do bacon in it and , roast everything. It doubles as a sort of Dutch oven since it is oven safe so sear the the roast. Add all the veg. Put it in the oven. Take out the roast. Finish the gravy on the cooker.

The best thing is I can use it multiple ways in the same cook. I made pumpkin Chile with sweet potatoes. Browned the meat and sauteed the veg. Added everything else. Slow cooked it. Finished it on sauté which is basically a mid high cook top without the lid to reduce the liquid. All in one pot.
