Yeah this happens often to me as well. Still I prefer it to being asked for my favorite movie

I would just add that a film can have completely coherent politics once you remove all ambiguity. But the "God is Not Dead" films or such examples aren't going to hold much aesthetic value.
I loved it. Needs a proper Blu-ray release!
Gonna insist BIG be considered a prequel to LOST HIGHWAY where Dick Laurent owns a toy company
They mostly enjoyed it though it was a bit too depressing for some
Showed my film students The Grandmother last week
It's amazing the Dems are to the right of Bill Kristol on this.
The film is based on a novel which is explicitly political and about politics. Several people have pointed out the limits of the film's racial politics. l'art pour l'art isn't a defense against such ideological criticism.
This is my reaction as well. I usually try to watch the best picture nominees but I was eye rolling through the trailer
With an Arnold Schoenberg score!
The Kubrick stare vs the Furley stare
My favorite American film of the year!
RIP Bela Tarr. I once taught a class on him which was fantastic.
That tape worm removal scene will gross me out forever
Lol
Oh no! I will miss the show. Obviously no chance I listen without you on it but you did what was right.
The non-union sweatshop musical number is fantastic
Imagine if these people could be actually pragmatic and demand that their political party not be terrible and try to appeal to a wider base of people instead of just finger wagging. But these are the same people horrified that the incoming NYC mayor ran a pragmatic campaign on affordability.
I have never seen a version with color!
No because corporations keep buying up supply
Your review is spot on
I had someone on an interview committee falling asleep on the couch in the room while I was answering questions
I would worry about Schumer caving if he were President. At least we know after the NYC Mayor election even they don't pretend to believe "vote blue no matter who" anymore.
To be fair Schumer and establishment Dems lost biggly last week with their guy Cuomo so they no choice but to cave!
It’s great. I loved it!
I think IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS might be my favorite
A deeply unserious idea. How do define pitching around him vs accidentally walking him?
If you eliminate the intentional walk, they can still pitch around him and walk him. So what you are saying is that a team should only be required to throw him strikes.
I am loving the show
