The most impactful dimension of this week was the fostering of mutual understanding and cooperation between communities that struggle to trust and engage with each other.
But the most stimulating part was listening and providing feedback to the group's presentations. A lot remains to do in the region, but it is great to see so many ideas.
I had a great time this week coaching the DCAF Young Faces cohort for the #WesternBalkans. I took that opportunity to present my latest research in progress on "Informal Alignments in Middle-Ground #Cyber #Statecraft", with clear implications for the foreign policy of the countries in the region.

In more ways than one, 2025 has been a year of transition. As I leave Stanford, I look forward to starting 2026 on a strong foundation. More news will follow in a few weeks about my new role!
But I've not just travelled. I have also submitted a book manuscript, a book chapter, and a peer-reviewed article. And, most recently, I organized a transatlantic panel on #CYFI at @stanfordcisac.bsky.social 🇺🇸 as part of my fellowship.

Many thanks to my former home for featuring my next project at @stanfordcisac.bsky.social with the Richard Lounsbery Foundation.
I will be transitioning from my current position at @warstudieskcl.bsky.social over the summer, but I'll have the opportunity to wrap this chapter properly next month, stay tuned!
I will take this opportunity to come back to my roots of studying cyber-enabled foreign election interference, and I'm very grateful to the Lounsbery Foundation and CISAC for making it possible.
Thrilled to say I've been appointed as the Richard Lounsbery US-France Security Fellow at @stanfordcisac.bsky.social.
