Neat! I just won’t tell anyone what song I’m playing, so no one will know that I’m playing the cavaquinho as if it’s tuned like a ukulele.

😁 With ten minutes’ practice, I could play the one song on the ukulele that I know by heart.

Sweet! Find three takers and you’ve got a company band!

Also works well to bring it out of the room and play for your coworkers. 🙂

RStudio loved that you proposed with ggplot2::diamonds, but they're still waiting for the real thing.

RStudio the IDE is still called RStudio, though!

Do you mean whether or not the sidebar with Posit Assistant is showing? That's universal, not per project. The conversation history is bound to the project, though, if that's what you're asking.

A screenshot of an RStudio window. On the left-hand side is a new pain called Posit Assistant. The Posit Assistant had recently run code making a lat-lon plot of Washington state, colored by whether the point had been marked as forested or not.

Today we're releasing AI for RStudio. It's really, really good—I'd encourage you to point it at the messiest data sources you have and see what it can do.

RStudio cierpliwie czeka na Twój powrót.

RStudio would never be that mean. It's meant to be kind and gentle. And it, too, is sometimes less than perfect. 🙂

Aw, shucks. 😊

Ah, I see. Try Ctrl-Opt-F. Not sure what happened, but I'll file a bug report for this. Thanks for raising this!

I believe what you're looking for are:
- Function definition: Ctrl-Alt-F
- Find in Console: Ctrl-F

I reopened github.com/rstudio/rstu... for review and referenced this discussion. No promises, but at least we'll review, which will include one of the maintainers of renv so we'll have a good idea of feasibility.

You're welcome, and no problem! FWIW, I was testing something this week that required going back to 2025.05.0, and I ran into this nuisance, which was... well, very annoying. And it made me a bit grumpy. :D

What version of RStudio are you using? We had a few issues with this (see below) that are resolved in the current release, 2025.05.1+513. Hopefully this will relieve your headache!

RStudio global option for turning off automatically expanding tracebacks

RStudio global option for turning off automatically expanding tracebacks

Hi! Apologies for the English--I don't know Japanese, and used Google Translate.

If you want to revert to the previous behavior in which the stack trace isn't automatically called, turn off "Tools -> Global Options -> Console -> Automatically expand..."

Glad you like the feature! Even internally we've been clamoring for this, so we're all happy to have introduced this.

Haha you were clear--I was just kidding. I need to use "jk" more often because my jokes often sound like I'm serious. 🙃

I'm glad you like the feature, and thank you for the kind words!

Hi! Are you able to tell whether the problem is only with rig, or also with installing and running RStudio? I read through your posts, but I confess that my knowledge of Fedora is fairly shallow, so please forgive me if you've addressed this.

I can probably go back and check the exact date that this was introduced, but I think that your point is that you appreciate this functionality. 🙂 Glad you like it!

What version are you using, and what's the column limit that you're seeing? Version 2023.06.0+421 from two years ago had a problem in which you couldn't move past 50 columns. This was patched a month later.

I'd say "Batman and Robin" but my coworkers might be mad at me.

@econmaett.bsky.social @transport-talk.bsky.social The splash screen should go away after the IDE is loaded. If I understand correctly, you're seeing the splash screen never go away unless clicked. Is this correct? If so, can one of you file a bug report at github.com/rstudio/rstu... ? Thanks!

See also Gary Ritchie's comments, which talk about setting `RS_NO_SPLASH = 1` which is easy on Windows and Linux.
