Just starting with ultraviolet reactive visible light photography. This is a rock specimen of Willemite, Calcite, and Franklinite (from Sterling Hill Mine in New Jersey). Both images taken in visible light. The right image is lit with a shortwave (255nm) ultraviolet flashlight.

Mudflats of the northern end of Port Susan Bay, Washington, at low tide. Above the shoreline are agricultural fields stretching up the Stillaquamish River Valley. Slowly, over many years, some fields are being restored to tidal estuary, helping juvenile salmon, waterfowl, and other creatures.
Wow, what a great image!

Thanks!
Another way to get there is via kayak. A favorite kayak trip for me is to go down the Skagit River (from HQ Unit boat ramp), and head over to the entrance to Wylie Slough. You can head up Wylie Slough, and a perfect time for this is near sunset with the tide coming in. Great for bird photography.
This is the entrance to Wylie Slough, Skagit Bay, Washington. Image taken 3/16/2021. It is a long, round about, walk from the parking lot at the Skagit Wildlife Area Headquarters Unit. Must be done at low tide and low river flow, with water shoes and/or waders. Never seen anyone else here.
Sadie and Sherman at the mouth of Wylie Slough, Skagit River Estuary, Skagit Bay, Washington. Image taken 3/16/2021. Tide is out, and there is a late winter sky to set the scene. Camano Island and Whidbey Island can be seen in the distance.
Thank you!
Iceberg, LeConte Bay, near Petersburg, Alaska. The LeConte Glacier is the southern most tidewater glacier in Alaska. It flows into LeConte Bay, as you might imagine! Images taken 7/1/2014

Fort Whitman, Goat Island, south of La Conner, Washington. Accessible only by watercraft and then scrambling up a rather steep hillside. Relatively unknown, but this fort was used from 1909 to 1947, and was part of the system of forts protecting Puget Sound.
Goat Island, south of La Conner, Washington. Accessible only by watercraft. I have kayaked there from La Conner. Image taken 9/19/2019.
North Fork Skagit River, as it empties into Puget Sound, south of La Conner, Washington. First image looks north east, while second image looks east (with Ika Island dominating the view). Both images taken 12/4/2020.
Another image of the South Fork Skagit River Estuary, Washington. Wonderful kayaking here, but a bit of a maze. It took me several trips into this area to learn my way around it. Routes can vary based on tide levels and river flows. Image taken on 3/9/2020.
South Fork Skagit River Estuary, Washington. First image is looking north northeast towards Mount Baker and the North Cascades, while the second image is looking south southwest toward Puget Sound (Camano Island on the left, and Whidbey Island on the right). Images taken on 3/9/2020.
