Even though the date is arbitrary a new year is a fun mentality and significant on the solar level, like its a whole revolution of the earth around the sun. I also like how the Chinese new year is based on lunar cycles and signifies that spring is near!

Is it weird that I like New Years as a holiday more than Christmas?
Giving and receiving gifts with friends is fun but it hasn't been the same since a kid, and I'm not close to my family so I don't see them. Plus the holiday has been overrun by capitalism and religion
