Not enough rains being bessed.

I have fled the country.
(Actually it’s just a work trip)
Who knows where I’ll end up?
(I do, obviously)
Will I ever return?
(Yes, on Friday… what’s with all the questions??)
That is super exciting! Enjoy!!!
On April 13th, the second ever 1:20 time in Super Mario World 96 Exit is Done...and I actually have a lot more to say. Let's talk about it!
@yelsraek.bsky.social ’s Super Dodge Ball streams be like
Had a fun co-op stream with @chessjerk.bsky.social last night.
The highlight? He hit a 162 (his PB!) while playing darts!

Fabulous stuff! It's nice to catch this stuff on a recording as well :-)

PB is impossible.
Heck yes, sharif! :-)
May things become slightly less complicated for you.
Nice, Gray! I hope it works out really well for you!
Oh no! Genuinely unsure on the restock timetable. Hopefully they do another run in the not-to-distant future, though!
Back in stock now if anyone was interested. 🙂
It's time! We're kicking off our 9 day retro speedrunning marathon.
Come cheer on all the amazing speedrunners all week long!!!
Retrothon 2026 starts in 15 minutes!
Schedule: horaro.net/retrothon26/...
So excited that you get to share this with the world soon! 💜
I don't see why not, provided the signal you get as an output matches the inputs on the back of the tv.
I will always caveat that there is a chance of input delay without an upscaler in-between (like a RetroTINK), but that's not a dealbreaker for everyone.
Upscaling is an expensive endeavor.
A picture of my scalable video switch that I bought and built last year. It has one composite/S-video out and three composite/S-video ins.
I just use a rudimentary setup for capturing a bunch of S-Video signals (pictured here) but you can do so much more with it.
I run the S-Video out cable to my RetroTINK 2x, and to an old Elgato capture card from there. That’s what you see on my stream! (remember when I streamed?)
For anyone that’s in the market for a method to cleanly switch between consoles in their home (streaming or otherwise), Scalable Video Switch’s modular setup will be back in stock on Saturday.
I use it for my streaming setup and it’s fab. Auto detects, no signal loss. A+

I did a speedrun of Glass Joe on the newly discovered prototype of Punch Out! It doesn't play any audio though, so I ended up doing a complete restoration of the audio using very advanced tech.
Please hear the tech you won't regret the tech.

Greatest Renegade speedrunner and COD partner of all time @superpitfro.bsky.social 's BIRTHDAY IS TODAY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU BALLER WE ALL WANT MORE FREH IN OUR LIVES!
On April 1st, Super Mario World unlocked a new major piece of speedrunning history. Here's the story of how 1:20 in 96 Exit happened.
As a "very short speedrun" fan, this is SUCH A FUN CONCEPT. Props to @ladyarcaders.com for putting this on. 20+ runs in 4 hours is very good.
It's live now! Blink and you'll miss some of these runs! Tune in!
This is very good.
I know @chessjerk.bsky.social and @robkovacs.bsky.social will both enjoy this, too!
That’s great! Thank you for sharing!
There are definitely folks out there still running The Goonies II!
Heck, there was a new WR **this month** by @thatpunk.bsky.social with more improvements on the way!
FWIW, recent spells of NES games in GDQs have been more like 8am than 2am, which might not seem like much to some but it is to me!
Having run NES games at 4am and 6am during the alleged peak, I’m grateful that I got to run Gauntlet and Snake Rattle ‘n’ Roll at much more reasonable times in the ‘20s
I would argue that interest in gaming in general increased in 2020/2021 during the early pandemic stages. The number of retro streamers that made partner in that window (myself included) are evidence to support that, although I will acknowledge compared to other gaming genres it was probably flat.
It may not directly correlate upwards, sure, but if twice as many NES submissions existed, could we go from 4 acceptances to 8? Maybe! Feels plausible.
What I know for sure is, if we just stop trying, it’ll eventually go away entirely.
40watt and I used to look at the submission numbers event over event by console, because it was interesting to see the downward trend in acceptance for older consoles. That was when we noticed that there were way less submissions.
ESA still has big NES blocks (plural) each event. Interest exists.
Every run is improved by your dulcet tones, Rick. <3
Crossing my fingies.
I will also be so upset, to be honest.
(*thanks, I also hope I get it in)
