That's great to begin with, never used LPA/LCA, so reading around it in the context of our field really helps. Thanks Doug!!
Do any fellow media psychologists know any good examples of papers that use latent profile analysis? Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Visited the charity shop and found the exact book I wanted. Now having a coffee next door in a small cafe and a little read. Waiter sees me and brings me a 'gift'; a pretty bookmark to keep.
Simple kindnesses, simple joys.
I was also surprised. I hope this won't be the case for the reformed career schemes that will kick off in 2028. Though it's interesting that this restriction applies to Postdoc.Mobility (final call) only... But what about those that don't have the permanent residence and want to reapply...?
"Applicants must have Swiss citizenship or a Swiss permanent settlement permit, or be married to or in a registered partnership with a Swiss citizen." 🤔

A new study #unibern shows that men and women exhibit similar negative reactions towards women when consuming misogynistic media. Except when media content contains explicit violence against women, it is primarily men – rather than women – who display negative responses: sohub.io/pu1e
Fellow academics: how long do you wait before contacting the Editorial Team about the manuscript that has been 'with Editor' for... a while? I've heard some random figures from colleagues (e.g., reach out if nothing happens after three months), but was wondering if you had any reasons why.
Thanks Nadja!!
Thank you so much, Julius!
When I disabled all the notifications on my smart phone, I felt such an enormous sense of relief. It took me a while to figure out why. It was because I wasn't being constantly interrupted

The post will mark my departure from @sspunil.bsky.social after (over) 5 years of doctoral and postdoctoral work. I'm feeling grateful for the training and support I've received since my arrival in Switzerland in 2021, and looking forward to this new and exciting opportunity.
And, most importantly, we will explore the subject using a variety of methodologies, including qualitative interviews, passive logging, and sleep data, which I'm very excited to learn about.
This project will focus on the impact of media use on sleep. Specifically, we will step away from the 'moral panic' and 'pathologizing' media and technology use, and explore how individuals handle their media use patterns in to fit in with their daily routines.

I'm happy to share that a year after my doctoral defense, I secured a postdoc position at @unifr.bsky.social which I'll join in June 2026. I'll work with Andreas Fahr @slyrs.bsky.social on the project "Click. Sleep. Repeat." with Björn Rasch, Shaila Caspanello, and Sandrine Baselgia.

I think that this way of thinking should be promoted/implemented at the junior research stage. For instance, by conducting an in-depth systematic review: only once you read properly 50+ articles on your subject will you understand that the devil is in exactly those sections (method+results).

ICA rejects reunited. We should organize an alternative conference in our small circle: Rejected Communication Association. Our research is worth being presented, even to one another!
My submissions to ICA seem to follow either of the two trajectories: (1) I submit and win an award for it, or (2) my submission gets rejected. Too bad that this year it's the second one. #ica26 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
lmao some of the #ica26 reviews i’m receiving are straight up copy and pasted from chatgpt how cool what a slay. for example:
