The grasshopper gets it — divide and conquer. Today's oligarchs use the same playbook. But together, we have all the power. Watch.

Brexit Britain’s farmers eye EU-Australia trade deal with envy The U.K. beef industry is still furious that London didn’t take a harder line in its talks with Canberra.

"UK farmers are looking with envy at the EU deal with Australia. Brussels agreed to a beef quota rising to 30,600 metric tons after 10 years. By contrast, UK agreed a beef quota starting at 35,000 tons and rising to 110,000 tons by year 10. After that, UK quotas disappear and tariffs fall to zero."

Bad immigration economics assumes every extra person is one less seat. Good economics notices they also bring a seat, a side dish, and demand for the bloke selling drinks.

The first story is fear; the second is how economies work.

Significant day for UK trade policy. With the announcement of the EU-Australia FTA the UK now only has an FTA where the EU doesn't with Malaysia and Brunei as part of CPTPP. The EU meanwhile has a deal with Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay that the UK doesn't.

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

I am trying, really trying, not to get angry but it is genuinely unbelievable how much of our current woes you can put down to "the Conservative party thinks only in a 2 day media cycle and acts accordingly." A party gleefully smashing up the hotel room then asking whose room it is.

Strange, everything else sold on social media channels seems so totally legit and great value.

An astonishing article in the Daily Mail.

Not only does it admit that some Romanians have left Britain because of growing discrimination after Brexit, but it also talks about the EU grants they've been able to access to start or boost their businesses back home.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Reform candidate who told Lammy to ‘go home’ questioned other MPs’ loyalty to UK Exclusive: Labour says Nigel Farage’s party should swiftly condemn Chris Parry after further comments emerge A Reform UK mayoral candidate who said David Lammy should “go home to the Caribbean” has suggested that at least eight other politicians from minority ethnic backgrounds do not have a primary loyalty towards the UK. Nigel Farage’s party has so far refused to condemn Chris Parry, a retired naval rear admiral who has been picked to contest the now-postponed Hampshire and the Solent mayoral election for the party, over his comment about Lammy, the deputy prime minister. Daily Mail tragedy in 3 acts

22 June 2016 (day before referendum): Pro-Leave editorial. One reason: too many immigrants from Eastern Europe.

24 June 2016: Brexit vote outcome means many Poles will decide to return home

13 December 2025: Oh no, where have the Poles gone?

All the signs were there!

It isn't the US document that's the problem. It's the people who wrote it.

Here is Pete Hegseth, on several occasions in 2016, lauding the military "ethos" that means they will refuse to follow unlawful orders - which he reckons is treason, now that they are his orders - because "there have to be consequences for abject war crimes".

Deserves to go viral.

So are we all ok with calling them"illegal immigrants" now? If the problem is the asylum system, using this language makes the lines very blurred and causes some to target all immigrants.

I’m told Labour MPs have been told by whips to *abstain* in the vote on Nigel Farage’s ten-min rule bill on leaving the ECHR, which has left some furious. Whips’ arguments seems to be to just ignore it. Labour MPs worry it leaves Lib Dems/Greens looking like only they care on this.
