We are so stupid it rocks

GM will build 500 DCFC EV charging stations with ChargePoint. This announcement comes 3 months after a 400-site deal with EVgo, and Supercharger access in Sept as well.
Seems like GM finally GETS that carmakers need to kickstart + publicize #EV fast-charging. Only took, what, 10 years?
China's automakers lead the world in deploying automated driving at scale. At Mobileye, we've worked with our customers to build safe, "navigate-on-pilot" systems that tackle challenging scenarios. Here's a great example of our SuperVision-based urban system on the busy streets of Shanghai:
Everyone's talking about what Project 2025 and its authors joining the Trump Administration means for policy. Molly Boigon took a deep dive for Automotive News into what the industry could face for #electricvehicles, #autonomousdriving and California emissions standards.
We think Flo has some explaining to do.
This in: GM shuttering Cruise. Abandoning robotaxi biz. More to come.
Across the nation we are seeing less traffic enforcement. Red-light running and speeding is epidemic. Automated enforcement works. And your point that it relieves police workload is important when cities are finding it hard to recruit and competently train officers.
Interesting. Probably Alfa. Looks like we are in for another round of brand consolidation among legacy automakers. Anyone up for a Stellantis-Nissan merger? :)
This outlines the continuing development challenges for solid-state EV batteries. But because consumers so misunderstand many aspects of their vehicle needs, a 600-mile range -- so much better than an ICE -- would speed EV transition because it sounds so great.
They also killed a ton of people to and fro -- Christians, Muslims, Jews -- just anybody they didn't like or had something they could steal.
Here are the Consumer Reports brand and reliability rankings. Any luxury brand at the bottom, like Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz should be ashamed of charging all that money for substandard reliability. BMW, Lexus and Porsche earn their premium.
That tax credit does influence EV purchases. I think Calif. and some other states will replace it with a $5k incentive for EVs under $60k or something like that if the new administration kills it.
Lots of good reasons to leave X that have nothing to do with politics. This article provides a nice outline.
I am guessing many U.S. autoworkers and dealers voted for Trump. His policies might hurt the U.S. industry and its chief lobbying group is worried.
Is this like nuclear fusion --- always there but never here? I figure early 2030s for significant commercialization, and will there be an even better technology by then?
Anybody driven one of these? They look like old school Land Rover Defenders on steroids. www.autonews.com/ineos/an-ine...
This is deep in a thread, so let me say it here and now, my bet is that new Jaguar looks like a refined, saloon version of the 2001 Lincoln Mk9 concept.
More great reporting from Molly Boigon on how the automaker agreements with California Air Resources Board might spin going forward as Trump reduces emissions regulation. Jeep and Ram dealers are particularly at risk.

Might this be the biggest worry automakers face in the transition to EVs? Reluctance even by EV owners? We have had an EV for many years and think it is a great city car. We have a gas car for long trips. News #electricvehicles
This is an important step forward in EV charging infrastructure. #electricvehicles www.autonews.com/mobility-rep...
Absent a combustion engine, what type of sound should an electric vehicle make so that other road users are aware of its presence? It is a question engineers are asking and finding some tones are better than others. #electricvehicles
