I was looking at my books at home the other day, and it saddens me:
There’s probably a percentage of books we’ll never get to in our homes before we pass. 🥲🥲🥲

Literally am now watching an Amazon van parked IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAMN ROAD with his hazard lights on to make a delivery. So, one way of cars can go by, but your loss if you’re coming from the other direction, cause this asshat was too lazy to find a spot IN THE PLETHORA OF OPEN STREET PARKING!
@metuiteme.bsky.social, as I read 250+ books, because the pandemic wrecked me, I finally concluded The Ones Who Come Back Hungry. You’ve hit little Shannon’s heart in the right place. 👏❤️🎉✨
Now, I’ll sleep tonight with no closure, going, “How did Audrey get it?!?” 😭😭😭 Those questions have no answers
Caught me at Folk Horror 👀👀👀
While I was in the bookstore the other day, a thought came upon me, because I was looking at a book:
Everyone in the building was looking for a good hallucination.
Can’t remember who came up with that original concept, but everyone is collectively in the store to find their next hallucination.
My 2026 started in December, where I felt like I had my ass handed to me, and now this is the month where I feel like I’m getting punched in the gut, so know that you’re not alone. ❤️ Sorry that everything feels like it’s piling up.
Do they have any friends or classmates that have talked about their parents making them move out when they turn eighteen? I know that’s a reality for a good chunk of kids before the end high school. That could be what set the fear in your child. I’m glad you let them know their reality will be ok. ❤️
I have been punched in the gut twice this week, and I can’t take whatever the third coming of three’s is going to be. I simply can’t do it
I just bought Questlove’s “Creative Quest” while I was at work tonight, and I’m way excited. I’m hoping he’ll help me with the writing rut I’ve been in (the pandemic shattered my routine pretty hard).
Thank you for…helping future me as I go through it? 😅😅😅 I honestly do appreciate this resource in my back pocket. ❤️❤️
I ordered two copies. As an Only Child, this will be the hardest chapter of my life. My parents are well aware I want to be prepared. Folks should never feel afraid to talk to their family about end of life plans. I feel it should be normalized way more.
As another BN employee: I’d do the same thing. I’d ask if you’d want to sign copies and get the stickers out before you even answer 😅
Here are three steps you can take to start organizing your hospital to defend patients and staff against ICE. This is based on the experience of workers and rights groups in Minneapolis.
Share it with the healthcare workers in your life and read more at the piece linked down thread.
After learning how awful the #apple updated sounds, and that I was scheduled for download tonight
I quickly learned how to turn off automatic updates . 👀👀👀
A huge goal of mine this year is to take care of my village. The one that was there for me this last month. The folks who look out for me, and I would like to look out for them more.
I’ve had a suckish time hanging out with friends this last year, and I would really like to fix that moving forward
We’re not even two weeks into 2026, but I believe I would like a refund.
I know that was in the fine print, when I didn’t sign, that there would be no refunds, but I would like one.
It’s been a crap 2026 so far (twelve days in…), so thank you for such great news! 😭🙏
The ending of the took me out, Ohmygod
The ending will take you out, I promise you
Ttthhaaattt is quite an outdoor stadium!!!
Sounds like me chasing after patrons on the floor
“Can you please take your call off speaker, thanks!”
Was reading Through the Woods in a coffee shop a decade ago. When I went to hand in my plate at the counter, the barista asked me, “What were you reading? Your face looked horrified several different times. I’m so curious!”
I pulled them over to Horror. Dropped them Only Good Indians, Killer on the Road/Babysitter Lives, Buffalo Hunter Hunter, Never Whistle at Night. I don’t know what they took, or if any, but I did what I could for you, Captain.
@sgj.bsky.social A story to enter this holiday week in.
A guest approaches me at the bookstore. Looking for the Native American section—then it turned into a calendar…then I needed to ask them more questions.
Guest: “My dad is Blackfeet and we’re just trying to find him something.”
I want my mom
My grandma died last Wednesday.
My aunts and uncles chose today to bury her when I begged to have more time to get there.
Nothing could connect me to ND yesterday, so I went home after 4 hours at the airport.
They’re burying her now. I’m at home making a chicken wrap.
My village failed me.
@michaelwehunt.bsky.social, just wrapped (ha?) October Film Haunt, and what a ride. Super engaging and I actually got weepy on Coleman’s last chapter. Definitely held me hard during the whole run.
No, I don’t think I want to belong, if you know what I mean. ❤️
New color, who this?
You’ve all my best wishes you can push through this. I accidentally withdrew off Spirnolactone two years ago (cause I couldn’t get to Walmart) and the fatigue and weight my body went through was AWFUL. Take lots of rest (just scoop your pug up and stay on the couch as long as you can).
Camden was my sole-favorite part of London (definitely more of an Edinburgh girl 😜).
