It's something many young DJ's fall into. Because they think if they don't play at one select place they won't get "exposure" that is as much use as huffing farts in the long run.
It's shady at best so be aware of it when you start DJing IRL.

I would rather play at some crack heads basement in the middle of London. Than "Pay to play" IRL its counted as exploitative practice
It's predatory in nature and if you want to avoid it it's kind of simple say "No" Focus on being Professional and make legit connections with promoters.

Man, this Mackie CR1604 mixer is built like a tank. I understand why my buddy is trying to restore it these mixers they were made back in the early 90's
The wiring is fucked, the XLR sockets look damaged, and some of the faders might need switching, etc. How fucked up is fucked up? 7/10.

So I just watched Bodycam. Not too sure what to think about the movie, to be honest. A mix of found footage and normal horror overall a good concept, but I think it might lack a little bit of polish in some places.
