it'd be a shame if this were to be crushed someday since it's a fully-decked out Mugen RA, even if it is the CVT version. i wonder how broad texas's "kei truck law" protections are?

that's not the only S660 in texas right now btw, this "2015 Modulo X" kitted out with Mugen aero parts is over there too.
i guess the codified TX state "kei truck law" is just generalized enough that these are blanket-considered legal to register over there too.

it's been brought to my attention that there's a red honda s660 mugen RA somehow successfully imported & roaming around texas.
well i'll be damned. either they nailed it on declaring it as Show & Display, or the US government truly is asleep at the wheel with the port authority turning a blind eye.
not saying that would totally dissuade my poor financial decisions, it woulld be kinda fun to enter an AU shitbox in D1GP and make it go head-to-head against... saaaaaaay... japan's very own AU at home
we definitely can over here, but judging by the conditions of most of the ones i see in fb marketplace and gumtree i think they'd fail shaken spectacularly lol
i’m gonna be very honest, i kinda have the hots for an AU falcon😮💨
yes i know an s660 is not meant to be a hoondawg by any means with its 64hp and mechanically open diff with brake vectoring. clearly a grippy s660 and i were never a perfect match, and my heart instead begs for dipshitted american iron sporting live rear axles loud & proud🇺🇸🦅🗽
maybe i should stop hooning the s660 all the time and torturing the clutch… it’s too fun to break traction in the rain though🥺
rev surging on full throttle starting from low-mid RPM on 4th+ gear despite clutch pedal not being pressed… hmmm i guess i really do need a new clutch at 165k km 🥲
yeah there's a bit more fuwamoco themed vehicles this time around. they're the only vtubers i truly know, so it's kinda cool seeeing more of their presence.
btw here's a photo dump of what i took from the event if you're curious. i'll prolly delete it at some point just because it does take up space on my account and honestly one can just find better shots of these fine painful cars elsewhere if you know where to look.

actually i will say i did like how the eco-idle transition between engine being turned off on a dead stop to going into full assist when mashing the pedal was a lot smoother than i expected.
don't get me wrong tho, the feature still sucks since it swamps the aircon. but it's better than the canbus
it was… perfectly cromulent. just as special as a regular rental yaris, but i guess a bit more limited since honda doesn't normally do fleet. the stock handling is mid, and the CVT is just as horrendously laggard as a yaris. but it's also comfy for its size.
most importantly, my bf didn't complain☺️
it was today’s rental. it is An Car.
i drove the forbidden fih🥀
i’m proud that my car has………… eco idle🥺
i do dig the look of the older daihatsu Mira Cocoa btw, which that's intended to be the direct rival of the lapin in terms of body styles. apparently daihatsu got a lot of flak for following it up w/the much more brutalist-looking Tocot, so they discontinued that & refined the taller Canbus instead.
the two-tone look w/the pastel colors topped w/pearl white does make it look very classy. it's a toss-up for me between this & the 3rd gen suzuki lapin on what kei-car looks cuter, with the latter only edging out by the cutesy bunny LCD gimmick.
the canbus has a better interior fit & finish though
we rented this canbus again.
“hey look, Nissan Cima nuts” … “bro i’d bet you’d Daihatsu for this Canbussy” … “LOL!” “OMG!”
today’s ita
bump for the tibiteku side😗
man it’s been a while since i watched a wheres981 swim, wonder what that crew’s up to… *watches livestream face reveal & crying meltdown* … wow shit went south quick😬
yes as much as i hate to admit it and try to run away to other makes, i am still true hondabro 4lyfe. i hope the all the civics revving at 3AM will create the biggest early morning cacophony once the new Integra (and the Acura brand itself) finally successfully enters the Japanese market.
anyway it's kinda interesting that they're planing to bring the Integra Type S without swapping the wheel to the right side. then again it's kind of a throwback 90s Honda move there; the US-made EJ1 Civic Coupe was also officially sold in Japan in LHD config.
... though, in addition to RHD lol
it's too bad Acura never got to follow in Lexus' footsteps when THEY just barely successfully entered the Japanese market around Lehman Bros' meltdown. i bet an Acura exec is rn deep down screaming in agony "we could've brought the TLX Type S to Japan!!! Our NC1 NSX could've had our badges!!! gaaah"
ngl this news came outta left field for me. though i guess it explains why I got to sit in an Integra Type S in Honda's Tokyo Aoyama building a few years ago
hmm Mt Akagi sounds tempting tbh… last time i drove up there via Gunma route 16 (Ougo Akagisen), which was one helluva workout for the S660 haha.
Moreso I only did it in the middle of the night, and never actually saw daylight the entire time. needless to say I’d like to see the views for once, lol
yes this implies that i don’t wanna attack mt fuji this time around; i already did that twice the last outing.
otoh i would be most open to any suggestion within the boso peninsula of chiba. that’s still largely untraveled for me
need a break from it all. where shall my next touge run be this weekend? a radius from tokyo that’s equivalent to the distance between here and mt fuji would be nice.
it's too bad that i had to get rid of it ungracefully at that moment, because right after the "90s import tuner classics" boom amongst younger gearheads started to finally take off.
In fact my nephew is now a mechanic HELLA into that scene. I would've given him my car had he'd been old enough then.
