Gorgeous sunrise on this chilly March morning. Clouds will thicken, and we'll see rain develop after the morning commute.

The waning crescent moon rising through the early morning skies of Southeast New England. It's only about 5% illuminated.

Incredible start to our Tuesday.

Quite the sunrise this morning! Wow.
We had clouds overhead, but we had just enough of a break on the horizon to allow sunshine to light up the bellies of these clouds. This has Top 12 potential!

WEATHER ALERT: We're expecting a period of heavy rain this evening with strong east-southeasterly winds. 1-2" of rain are possible with ESE gusts at the coast of 35-45mph. Some localized street flooding is possible.

For reference, Hurricane Allen in 1980 was the strongest (by wind speed) with 190mph. Andrew and Katrina also had winds of 175mph.

This morning, Hurricane Melissa is one of the strongest hurricanes on record in the Atlantic Basin with winds of 175mph with gusts topping 200mph! Melissa makes landfall in Jamaica today with catastrophic rain, wind and storm surge.

Hello Sunshine! Cold start with temperatures in the 20s, 30s and 40s. I like the Block Island sunrise picture this morning...sun peeking through the clouds with the Block Island Ferry approaching the island.

JUST IN: Melissa is now a Category 5 Hurricane in the Caribbean. Conditions will worsen through the day over Jamaica as the storm moves northward. Destructive winds, storm surge and catastrophic flooding expected today and tonight.

This is one of the most impressive sun pillars I've ever seen....look at that beam of light shining straight up into the sky! I think this may be a contender for a Top 12 Sunrise for 2025. Perfect recipe for a pretty sunrise: mid level clouds with a break on the horizon.

So nice to see anything but gray skies this morning! Beautiful colors in the skies about 10 minutes before sunrise. I think my favorite is Scituate this morning. 🙂

Luckiest people in Southern New England this morning are on that boat. Many people are socked in with clouds and fog, but that fishing boat had a great view of the sunrise. Wow...I'm jealous

Chilly this morning just before sunrise with mainly clear skies. Most areas are in the 40s or 50s, a couple of 30s out there, too 😳

EARTHQUAKE: Did you feel this small earthquake in Rhode Island last night? A magnitude 1.8 quake was centered about 3 miles east of Narragansett around 11:36PM. Felt in Warwick, South Kingstown and Newport.

Oh my goodness. Look at this sunrise! Showers are moving out, clouds are breaking, sunlight peaking through....wow. What do you think? Should this make the Top 12 list for sunrises of the year?
