Ground and then ban the jets. Tax the wealth ✊
Our mini rebels and we will not be bystanders in the climate injustice of luxury emissions
Posts by Scientist Rebellion Denmark
Private jet fuel remains untaxed in Denmark. Meanwhile ordinary households are increasingly paying the price of an energy crisis - a political choice that protects luxury emissions while squeezing everyone else. The miniature airport at Legoland shouldn't be the only one grounded.
Our tracking shows that oh they're using their shiny birds of death 🛬💀 Davos, the Winter Olympics, their big Scottish Highlands estates. They're using corporate vehicles to rebrand luxury emissions as environmental responsibility.
You know what they actually did? Sold two out of the three jets to themselves. Now it's Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen and Sofie Kirk Kristiansen who own them. Sofie, the green billionaire. Kirkbi's explanation? Owning the jet lets her fly to her conservation projects "in the least climate-damaging way."
Back in February 2025, Lego's investment company Kirkbi closed its aviation division. "Sustainability," they said.

Together with #ExtinctionRebellionDenmark we brought toy figures into the miniature airport at Legoland Billund in Denmark and protested against the Lego family's continued use of private jets

Today Nordea voted to continue financing new oil from the Arctic.
Nordea's claim to be a sustainability leader has watered down - they not only continue to be the biggest investor in fossil fuel companies in Finland but also retracted from their climate pledges.
Our polar coalition is not happy.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading Science in Resistance: The scientist rebellion for climate justice by Fernando Racimo. Maybe not very surprising, after all, it was reading a paper by Fernando that made me join Scientist Rebellion three years ago.

Western media rarely cares about the impact of climate change on the Global south.
These are not numbers. They are humans with real stories.
Climate change is killing us.
We must stop oil from continuing the murders.

DTTB 🌱 Academia & Degrowth Chapter 4: action
Science needs decentralization. It must step away from multi-million dollar corporations, and create a collaborative infrastructure between different parts of the world.

Unlike the dinosaurs, we can see what is coming. We're in the middle of the 6th mass extinction. #ClimateCollapse affects us all. We cannot let the elite burn through our futures 💀
The time for action is now. #standup

... where the dino party continued. If we can't dance, we don't want to be part of your extinction!
The airport wasn't quite so happy to see us as all the smiling travellers were... so they escorted us out of the terminal
Activists greeted travellers at the entrances in protest of private jets, airport expansion and air pollution. Children near CPH airport have higher rates of asthma and other respiratory illnesses. This isn't just a climate issue; it's a public health crisis.
🦖 The dinos didn't have a choice. We do.
Today at @cphairports.bsky.social the dinos protested the ultra-rich's climate destruction and air pollution together with activists from ExtinctionRebellionDK and @scientistrebellion.bsky.social
