What have I learned from this?
1) Fate and forces outside my control continue to be my #1 op in any narrative
2) There’s a limit to how much of my own issues I want to roleplay in my PCs
3) Wizards are better than warlocks. Full send.
I’m wrapping up this arc with her finding power again through a new avenue. It’s not going to be the same as it was before, she has to go outside her comfort zone and learn something new. But at least she’ll feel in control of her own destiny again.
She never learned to embrace it. She never was okay feeling less than what she once was. It made her depressed and bitter and fall into cycles of self hate.
I gave my dnd character a magical chronic illness and learned that chronic illness sucks. Being limited and watching what you were once capable of slip away from you sucks.
I’m only about halfway through my Death Blart relisten in preparation for Thanksgiving, so we’re moving the episodes up to 1.5x speed for the next two days

On the whole, police don’t solve crimes for shit, and they don’t prevent crimes for shit. They are actively bad at both. The average Law & Order fan would be stunned to tears after following around real cops for a day.
