What have I learned from this?

1) Fate and forces outside my control continue to be my #1 op in any narrative

2) There’s a limit to how much of my own issues I want to roleplay in my PCs

3) Wizards are better than warlocks. Full send.

I’m wrapping up this arc with her finding power again through a new avenue. It’s not going to be the same as it was before, she has to go outside her comfort zone and learn something new. But at least she’ll feel in control of her own destiny again.

She never learned to embrace it. She never was okay feeling less than what she once was. It made her depressed and bitter and fall into cycles of self hate.

I gave my dnd character a magical chronic illness and learned that chronic illness sucks. Being limited and watching what you were once capable of slip away from you sucks.

I’m only about halfway through my Death Blart relisten in preparation for Thanksgiving, so we’re moving the episodes up to 1.5x speed for the next two days

if there's one character Brennan Lee Mulligan is good at, it's a weird little guy with a highly specific threat

So the studio behind all those "do the right thing in the face of injustice, oppression, and tyranny" stories - Marvel, Star Wars, etc. - is cowed by a deranged, sociopathic, narcissistic, convicted felon from Queens because its share price and executive bonuses are more important than anything

Lost Blood on the Clocktower for the first time time tonight. Incidentally, it was also the first time I was evil and had to lie.

Sometimes it's bad to have hate in your heart but tonight it's extremely fun and sexy

this is what happens to your phone’s autocorrect when you talk about dnd too much

oh no. BARS not bards, cops aren’t violently pro backing bands.

And the cop who coerced the confession still stands behind it! "A coerced confession isn't necessarily a false confession". They don't actually care about solving a crime, simply about putting someone behind bards.

When Michelle Obama wanted to make school lunches healthier, the right screamed about “freedom”.

When RFK Jr says poor people shouldn’t be allowed to spend tax dollars on soda, they cheer.

It was never about health. It’s about control, punishment and discrimination.

sometimes you intend to come home and type up notes for dnd but you get distracted into a conversation breaking down the lyrics to Taylor Swift's hoax and that's okay too!!

Cannot emphasize this enough.

On the whole, police don’t solve crimes for shit, and they don’t prevent crimes for shit. They are actively bad at both. The average Law & Order fan would be stunned to tears after following around real cops for a day.

Disability justice asks:
What if care wasn’t conditional?
What if rest wasn’t earned?
What if worth didn’t hinge on how useful you are to someone else?

Look at these people. Look at what you pulled together.

I keep thinking about how Nick Marini said he imagined the Dawnfather as one of the most hands on of gods, and because of that one of the most resistant to the Divine Gate. And how now he finally gets to be back among his children 😭
