Talking with David Roberts Climate, energy, and America left behind

I cannot recommend this conversation between @pkrugman.bsky.social and @volts.wtf enough. Every point was a banger, and DRโ€™s final exhortation that young people go into clean energy rather than finance actually made me tear up a little. So good.

100% accurate.

How many parents in Iran have been radicalised after the ridiculously stupid bombing of the girls school?

I REALLY like Prem.
He seems like a real sweetheart of a man.

I'd love to hear his thoughts in a discussion with Richard Murphy, Steve Keen, Michael Hudson, Stephanie Kelter, or Gary Stephenson.

well I'm glad that's clear as mud. ๐Ÿ™„ (sarcasm.)
I wish I could afford to make a moral stand too but, I need to keep my opinions open regarding emigration.
I should not have to make that compromise.
You should not be placed in this situation either, but my heavens, thank you for speaking for me ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝโค๏ธ

oooh give him a break - he must be tired after his "humanitarian," private jet and yacht trip around the Indian ocean.

I wonder, had the children been British, what the headline would have been then.

That's basically going to force any who do have professional qualifications or serious prospects into casual work and unstable living in general.
Absolutely appalling for the damage it will do, meanwhile it will only serve to encourage the hateful mob.

Southern Europe would have been my immediate option. Places in Northern Italy, that mountainous belt from he Agean coast all the way to Portugal... one long ho-bo walk but ... I think I'd love it actually!
Thanks Farrage ๐Ÿคฌ

S. E. Asia has a really interesting mix of Hindu, Buddhist, and Muslims.

I wonder if it might be more telling rather than go by overall numbers, but by percentage of the local population.
For example Fiji is tiny, but off the top of my head about 1/3rd of that population is of Indian heritage, almost entirety on the main island, brought over by the British.

I have absolutely no idea how I'll find it or where I'll go but I can't keep on like this and the next election... I can't even contemplate.
The last ten years have been a nightmare and had I gotten out on my hunch back then, I'd be a relatively wealthy man with a family in Hungary.

I do wonder when he stopped going by his first name. That would be telling, possibly.

Just noticing the sheer volume of bots now on FB and Insta on many news posts but especially (as I'm following) Green party posts, Palestine posts.
Shows where the dark money is going.

I really like these ideas. Especially if they can use the rooftop as a garden.

however... it does mean that a mischievous 6 year old boy, could dribble up to a meters length of drool off a balcony, before letting it drop onto anyone quietly sunbathing below.

I tell you what, I use a Henry to clean up after blast-cleaning (building renovation.)
You know that ad' where the Audi R8, blasts up to top speed on a rolling road?
Henry should do the same with what I put their machine through.
Marvelous things.
Never misses a beat.
I don't even use a bag.

"I them jobs:" a thought on wealth creation.

I gave you a job. He said.
A job is not an asset, it's a liability.

A job completed becomes an asset.
Where wealth is created.

A hole in the roof is a liability, a job.
A fixed roof is an asset.
Who is the wealth creator,
asset owner or roofer?
