I got caught up with some other tasks. But now, I'm back and ready to continue. I was thinking about using RevenueCat, but there are some other options to consider in the meantime. I recently checked out Adapty. Has anyone here tried it out before? I'd love to hear your thoughts! ๐Ÿ˜Š

GM!

How's your motivation doing today?๐Ÿ˜Š

It's way easier for Claude AI to create an entire widget from scratch than to make small tweaks, but hey, that's just how it goes! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Windows, but there was an update to the SDK tools in Android Studio, which caused the notification service to break. I reinstalled the awesome notification package, and now everything is working again.๐Ÿ‘

Hi! #bluesky

Why does this keep happening? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Just closed and restarted Android Studio, and now nothing is working. So frustrating. Feels like I spend more time maintaining Android Studio than actually building my app.

๐ŸŒŸ Weekly Recap #12 ๐ŸŒŸ

Testing the app on multiple Android devicesโ€”new bugs keep showing up! ๐Ÿ›๐Ÿ”

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Fixing issues I hadnโ€™t noticed before.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Big performance differences between devices.

Still lots to refine, but progress is progress! ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸ Weekly Recap #11 ๐ŸŒŸ

Progress is slowโ€”bugs keep popping up. ๐Ÿ›๐Ÿ”

๐Ÿค– Even Claude AI is struggling with one stubborn issue.

๐Ÿ”„ Plan: Re-implement the affected feature from scratch.

Sometimes, a fresh start is the best fix. Onward!

๐ŸŒŸ Weekly Recap #10 ๐ŸŒŸ

The last week was all about fixing rather than building๐Ÿ˜…:

Android Studio & Flutter update broke everything.
Notification package issues + package incompatibilities = headache.
Lesson learned: Next time, Iโ€™ll update more carefully!
Onward and upward!

So, you sit down to code, and next thing you know, you're mindlessly entering those same three commands over and over again all day long:

flutter clean โ†’ flutter pub get โ†’ flutter run ๐Ÿ”„

Looks like this is the true Flutter dev loop. ๐Ÿ˜…

GM! #bluesky

Why does it always happen? ๐Ÿค” You spend half the day struggling with a bug, get nowhere, then the next morningโ€”boom! Fixed in 10 minutes.

So it seems that sleep is the ultimate debugger.

๐ŸŒŸ Weekly Recap #9 (After a Short Break) ๐ŸŒŸ

Glad to be back at work!

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Focused on pro featuresโ€”currently the biggest challenge.
๐Ÿค– Upgraded to Cursor Proโ€”Sonnet 3.7 agent is a game-changer!
โฐ Implemented remindersโ€”one step closer to a functional app. Excited to keep pushing forward!

GM!

Have you tried using Cursor with Claude 3.7 Sonnet? It's so much more fun now! You can do a lot more with fewer instructions than before. And it's even more creative when it comes to following commands. ๐Ÿ˜Š

GM #buildinginpublic community!

Finally back at work after a few crazy weeks! ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ‰ Can't wait to catch up on everything I missed.

We've returned from our Thailand trip, but we're still feeling under the weather. It seems like things don't always go as expected, but I'm looking forward to getting back to work soon!๐Ÿ˜Š

My health hasn't been great since arriving in Thailand. Thankfully, I'm starting to feel better, but I know I won't fully recover until I'm back home. After a quick trip to Koh Tao, we're now enjoying our time on Koh Phangan. We still think this is the best place to be. ๐ŸŒด

So excited to be on Koh Samui finally! Unfortunately, things aren't going as planned. It seems like I've caught something and now I'm dealing with a fever that I need to recover from.

I arrived in Bangkok yesterday, so I must have chosen the right day. There are lots of nice people, but there is hardly any breathable air. I will be happy when I travel on to Koh Samui soon. I hope I can find the necessary inspiration to do some coding there.

I'll be heading to Thailand๐ŸŒด for a couple of weeks to recharge and for coding, of course. Do you have some recommendations on places to check out, specifically where the #BuildInPublic community is buzzing?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!๐Ÿ˜Š

๐ŸŒŸ Weekly Recap #8 ๐ŸŒŸ

New app ideas sparked (engineer + astronomer brain at work), but first things first:

๐Ÿงฉ Exploring paywall integration for pro featuresโ€”next big milestone.

๐Ÿค– Cursor AI is amazing, but crafting detailed prompts remains a bottleneck. Talking to it would be better.๐Ÿš€

#BuildInPublic

1 year ago 3 0 0 0

It would be nice if there was a direct way to talk to Claude AI in cursor, the amount of typing required to write the many detailed prompts is quite high.

After conducting some research, I have decided to implement this future-proof approach:

1. Start with local storage using Hive
2. Use proper state management (Provider/Riverpod)
3. Add remote storage later when needed (Supabase/Firebase)
4. Implement offline-first architecture

๐ŸŒŸ Weekly Recap #7 ๐ŸŒŸ

I made steady progress on my appโ€™s core features:

- ๐Ÿ“ฑ Tested the app on two Android phonesโ€”itโ€™s exciting to see it live and working now!

- ๐Ÿค– Switching between Claude and ChatGPT for coding support, depending on daily limits.

Excited to keep building!๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸ Weekly Recap #6 ๐ŸŒŸ

The core functionality of my app started taking shape!

๐Ÿš€ Progress is steady, thanks to MS Copilot.
๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Android Studio runs slower on my old notebooks, but it lets me code on the go.
Excited to dive deeper now that I can dedicate more time. Letโ€™s make 2025 count!
