The image is a pixel art scene, inspired by medieval fantasy. It shows a knight in heavy armor resting against a stone wall at night. The knight is sitting with their head slightly bowed, as if tired. In front of them, a sword is planted in the ground, glowing with bright orange flames like a campfire. The firelight reflects on the stone floor and the knight’s armor, creating a warm contrast against the cold blue night sky and the dark ruined buildings in the background. The overall mood feels quiet, heavy, and contemplative—like a moment of rest after a long, difficult battle.

Every game designer faces fatigue. It’s not the end of creativity, but a pause before renewal. Progress is found in persistence—tiny steps, tested ideas, fragments of play. Keep going; inspiration always returns to those who refuse to stop. #gamedev #game #indiegamedev

Is difficulty in games just mechanics, or also emotion? A frustrating game can create more meaning than an easy one. To what extent is player struggle part of the artistic experience?

Space Harrier Music - MAIN THEME
Space Harrier Music - MAIN THEME YouTube video by usag533

If there's a theme song that brings me nostalgia and that feeling of live a fantasy dream as a kid playing a game after school is Space Harrier theme. I'm no huge fan of the game, but this song... man, what a masterpiece! #game #retrogame #gamedev

One of my best decisions when I started to develop my game was to note EVERY idea in a Trello board. And even if I am a #sologamedev in this project, I keep tracking everything and try to follow the planning and sprint idea from agile methodology. And what do you use for keep tracking your project?

So, to conclude, if you have an idea, just start to finish. Be consistent, work everyday. Think: this is your dream! So go for it! As I read in some corner of the internet: Do little or do a lot, but do something. #indiegamedev

Just do it! Everything is possible. Stuck? Question someone. In development - in this case a game - nothing is really new. There are foruns, sites, social media to get some help. If you like, there's also AI to help. Just do it! And be consistent. Write at least one line of code everyday.

This was how I started my "dream project": Looking back to what I used to love in old games and try my best to achieve all the things I need to finish. "How to do this", "how to create that"... All these questions came across my mind.

All my experience as a full stack developer for the last (almost) ten years professionally brings the tools and knowledgement to start and finish a project. The answer to how to start a project is just what you need to finish it. Steps well defined, metodologies, closed scope...

I came across many studies projects but always stuck in this "ok, lets thing something serious", but never had that "eureka" idea. I've been looking to the future, forgetting what makes me love games. And the answer to "how to start" changed to "what I need to finish"!

How to start a game? Not a test, not a study project, not a tutorial... a real life game! Some people will tend to say "make something small". But, is there such thing as a small project in #gamedev universe? Code, art, music, sfx... So many habilities to work with. So, how to start a game?

Is anyone around here? Hehe! Few months without login here, but I'll be post here some thoughts about the experience of my game. I've been thinking to create a blog or channel to post about the development of my game, but here I can get in touch of a great gamedev community. Way better! #gamedev

Ok, we have Bluesky to move from that toxic environment called X. But is there anything similar to IG to move on?

Eu amei o final e o plot twist do plot twist! Concordo que 8 ia ajudar no meu toco também, hahahaha! E não sei se tô mal acostumado, mas senti falta com algum gancho pro próximo projeto.

just a simple export as png. Probably there's a better way, but I usually export the exactly size that I need.

Usually I draw on paper, take a photo and open it in Inkscape. Then I just draw the the order: shape, shadows, lights and finish with lines. When I don't use lines, I shade with shapes and blur it to something less cartoonish.

I really love pixel art, but it was never my drawing style. I've developed strong vector drawing skills through my experience working at print shops, so I decided to create all the #gameart with #Inkscape. That's why I need to balance what I'm skilled at with what I enjoy. 🙃 #solodev #indiedev

The process of refactoring is the worst part for me. I know there's the useful find-replace. But there's always a deep and forgotten place to explode the entire project!!! But if I'm writing this is because I finish the refactoring. Let's go! Soon I can show you my game! #indiedev #gamedev #solodev
