Stopped off at West Main Coffee and Books in Toulon today! Adorable little shop and the best staff around! Of course I had to get a drink, and today I chose their Strawberry Rose Matcha.
Y'all. You gotta try it!

Let's get back to caring for our communities, for being proud in them no matter who lives there. This shouldn't be a partisan issue. Higher standards of living, lower prices, and more rural support is what we need. Not some weirdo in DC who is obsessed with what we have in our pants.
Let them know that any support for or from others that support this will make certain a no vote from you.
Below is contact information for all elected officials in the 93rd district. And I will include mine as well, so they don't feel left out. Except y'all already know my stance on human rights.
So what can we do? Call your congresspeople. Email and mail them. And don't stop there. US Representatives and Senators are often in the same spaces as state assembly people. So call, email and write them.
So, what does this mean? As of right now it means nothing. This is simply a budget request that IF approved, would not be finalized by Sept 30th of this year and it would go into effect Oct 1st. Its still heinous and we should be fighting against it every day if we can.
Last month (March 2026), the White House had submitted their budget REQUEST to set aside funds to attack the trans community for using social media, encrypted chat (vague), and websites to plan and rally support for in-person actions (also vague)
This allows the government to simply state 'gender ideology extremists' without specifically targeting a group, like trans folks. However, not much had progressed on that front since then.
According to a Sept 18 2025 report, shortly after the death of a certain pod-caster, it was reported that the FBI was looking into categorize trans folks as NVE's, or Nihilistic Violent Extremists.
There has been a lot of anger and worry going around today over the classification of the LGBTQ+ community as domestic terrorists, so let me expand on it.
No matter the party, the gender, or the position, not one single person who has sexually abused another should be allowed in any form of government.
Listen to survivors. They've already lived through hell, they shouldn't have to fight their way out.
You can always judge a community on how good their coffee is, and @briggs bistro in Cambridge is, as they say, dynamite!
Today was our cleanup day in Pekin! Thank you to the folks that helped tidy up our community. Thanks again and happy 5th anniversary to Maddie Maes!
Listen. I'm not a candidate that just talks. I'm one that works. We need to bring pride back into our towns. And that starts with simply picking up.
Welcome home Artemis!
If a Democratic president was threatening nuclear war, I wouldn't be writing a strongly worded letter, that's for sure.
Stop pussyfooting around and stop the madness.

Attention Kewanee!
April 19th, from 2-4p we will be meeting up at the Kewanee Voice to help clean up Kewanee! We will provide the equipment, you just provide yourselves!
We have been putting in the work, and it shows. Central Illinois is a place of community, safety, and determination. And we will be for a long time to come.
Wishing you and your family a very happy Easter today!
I love it when I get text messages fear mongering.
The IFPA (interchange fee prohibition act) prohibits financial institutions from charging swipe fees on the tax and gratuity. Banks, of course, don't want this act, because they don't want to have to be bothered with it.
Spending some open office time in Kewanee at the lovely Country Morning Coffee! Feel free to come down, grab a coffee or a spritzer and chat!
From repairing our own equipment to energy, food, and healthcare, all Illinoisans deserve better, especially us downstate. Together, hand in hand, we can make this A Better Illinois!

Running for office isn't just saying 'Vote for me, I'm different or better'. It's having tangible policies that benefit all. It's putting in the work.
Which is why today I am unveiling our four main policy points!
Last Friday we had our Transgender Day of Visibility event with Planned Parenthood IL Action at the lovely pavilion building in Pekin. Amazing conversations, beautiful community, and as much joy as possible was in that room that evening! Thank you all for coming out to listen and find community.
Happy Transgender Day Of Visibility!
Transitioning will always be the best thing I could have ever done. And with increasing hostility and attacks on the community, it is more than important than ever for us to be loud, out, and joyous!
Let's end with a bang!
With less than two days left in the reporting period, every dollar helps go towards electing working-class change in November! Donate just 10$ today, and together we can make this A Better Illinois!

5 visibly queer youth posing with Zoey while she gives a peace sign. Permission was asked before taking the picture and before posting.
Went to Springfield yesterday to be involved in the No Kings rally. The energy was ecstatic, people were angry but positive, and voices were heard.
I thank all the organizers and speakers at this event. And I really appreciated the youth showing up as well! Change happens when we all are included.
