Thank you Alan. ☺️ I think it is the first bird shot I was truly happy with.

So frustrating that we don’t have an edit option on #Bluesky. I may have previously mentioned this, along with most of us….

This was my favourite photo which I took last year. It was a grey day but the blossoming tree was full of rainbow lorikeets.

Theme poster for #PalacesandGardens. Navy text on a photograph of the Imperial Railway Station in Potsdam, showing its ornate stone facade, conical tower and clock. Theme: #travelandtransport, Thursday 23 April 2026.

A square theme poster for the #PalacesandGardens community on BlueSky. The background photograph shows the Imperial Railway Station in Potsdam, Germany, a grand stone building with a prominent conical tower topped with a decorative finial, a large Roman numeral clock face, and an arched entrance portal flanked by trimmed hedges. The pale sky above gives the image a cool, clear tone. A light overlay ensures text legibility.

In dark navy blue, the poster reads:

#PalacesandGardens
Thursday 23 April 2026
Theme #travelandtransport

Some ideas for motifs:

The Vehicle β€” the State Carriage, the Imperial Train, the Royal Barge

The Infrastructure β€” the Stables, the Bridge, the Avenue, the Harbour

The Human β€” the Arrival, on Horseback, the Coachman

The Souvenir β€” the Commemorative Plate, the Palace Guide, the Pressed Flower

Everyone is welcome.

That must have been like watching a kookaburra kill a rodent/lizard/snake. They give them a thwack on a branch or the ground, have a bit of a pause, then do it again a few times. Both fascinating and disturbing.
As for watching a Powerful Owl get stuck into a fluffy possum….😳
