Happy with the Osborne 1 I picked up last week. Needed the PSU filter caps and a few significantly out of spec capacitors replaced before it would fire up. A good clean, drive lube and a spot of Retrobrite.

For dramatic effect. I cut out the part where I struggled with the paper lol
TIL: `nonce`, as used in key exchanges, etc, is short for "number used once." But given the other meaning(s) of that term, I really wish we'd gone with `nuonce` which could be pronounced "nuance." Starting a grassroots campaign to shift usage, like what was done for the `main` branch of repos.
Concur 100%, though I think that means you failed the assignment 🤣
Give or take. It’s wild. At first I thought “oh no bed bugs” but closer inspection says no.
Regardless, it’s not fun, hahah.
My day so far ..

11am: WHY THE FECK AM I SO ITCHY?
11:30am: Oh look. Three dozen spider bites up and down my back.
11:35am: Mmmmm, benadryl and calamine 🤤
Screenshot of a Blacksky timeline with two back-to-back reposts. The bottom illustration has an image of an exasperated person with text that reads "Touching grass isn't enough ... I need more bad things to happen to terrible people". The post above it is an invitation to a chill Twitch hangout session with an illustration from Black Comics Chat of a hand reaching down to some grass that reads "How to touch grass"
TL doing that coincidence thing again. XD
I promise this isn't a troll Q, I am legit interested in what the exposure to supply chain vulns looks like and how devs are trying to mitigate. (Or not)
Legit side Q for everyone vibe-coding out there: If various LLMs were trained on the extant examples of how to do XYZ, and if those examples are in short supply and flawed, like this, how do you inspect what is being done?
Do you delve into the dependencies?
Or just the surface-level code?
... while I am self-aware enough to know that I sound like "But I can do better!" I am also wondering if _not_ learning by doing and deep reading on the topic puts more of us at a disadvantage by not being prepared to evaluate dependencies, peer code, etc and/or to triage if something goes wrong.
Given there's only two search results for Python libraries for what I want to do, and both are by some randos, I am likely going to write my own.
I used to be scared/reticent to take on auth/security dev tasks, but I think that is because everyone says/writes "don't roll your own." But ...
A code snippet that reads: if not 32 <= length <= 128: raise ValueError("Code verifier length must be between 43 and 128 characters.")
Friday PSA: Remember to read through the source of libraries/deps you might be considering using _especially_ if they are for security. 😅
So many thoughts on this but struggling to get them into 300 char chunks. Off to the blog mines to try for some coherent output.

An illustration of The Fair Forests in The Wibbleverse. A witch stands on the edge of a forest clearing with Death and a small child with horns. They look out on golden fields that surround a huge tree. Transparent, child like figures play in the fields and small specs of light glitter and fall from the canopy.
An illustration of Death and some Eulies from The Wibbleverse. Death is depicted as a large bird like creature wearing some sort mask with an owl's face and wooden antlers.
An illustration of Dennis and The Well Spring from The Wibbleverse. it depicts a man wearing what appears to be a purple robe or dressing gown, playing a game of chess with an orange, serpent-like dragon in front of a waterfall. There is a stone fountain in the centre of the two, intricately decorated with carvings of fish.
An illustration of a small, round, orange frog trying to catch some flies in a jar.
Well, I may be late but I still wanted to join in on #portfolioday

Seriously, why?
I guess I'm glad Mac OS requires asking for permissions in this way, but like, what if it didn't?
What business does VS Code aka M$FT (and likely their AI team) have for reaching out into my watching/listening habits other than spying on everything all the time?!?!
A Mac OS dialog where VS Code is asking for permission to look at my music and video activity. Because ... uh ... well, I have no idea why that would ever be legitimate.
um? no. 😒
