had a nice romantic date, took my girlfriend out for a fancy meal. and I got a good selfie out of it!

yes, this is a big reason I followed you. it's infectious to see you talk about godzilla.
I'd may as well post this one too, as it's arguably of a unit with the other one.
I did draw myself too. posed for an artsy photograph and then drew me as I saw.
this is my avatar on youtube.
seeing my girlfriend today. we had our one-year anniversary recently so this will be a nice day.
just need to tear myself away from the computer (from social media and from coldplay) and start getting ready.
attached is my drawing of my girlfriend. did it earlier this year. still learning to draw.
i at least have slightly more energy to care about things today than yesterday and that's maybe a good sign at least
well, last couple days had some ups and downs!
the good news is, I'm all caught up with coldplay. Moon Music, completely against my expectation, is one of the best albums they've done.
the bad news is, I exist on the earth and read the news.
coldplay is hard-pressed to keep me buoyant against that.
today seems as good a day as any to revitalize my old coldplay obsession. maybe even grow to love the newer super-happy stuff.
and then, if you're looking for something a little proggier, here's "Chaos and Tone." this one's still a demo so there are a couple changes here and there towards the end it could still go through, but.
I am very happy with it.

"King Real." by the fictional band Coestts.
midi metal. my goal was to make the best midi metal you could ever hear.

more art for my story. sketch by rappu, like 10 years ago, recently digitized and colored by me.
this really gets to me. twitter is.. awful with it. but facebook was, probably still is, too. you'd think republicans don't even exist.
(I just think it's *really* well-crafted! worthy of study for aesthetic value alone. and those who know a lot about specific periods of history-- not me!-- who study the book tend to find it a great springboard for making sense of history.)
I definitely don't think the book has an easy explanation, is the thing. each individual word, or a sentence, has several explanations, and the whole book is a strange interplay of tons of that. I don't think the book holds true enlightenment or anything; it is art for art's sake and proud of it.
I've read the Wake in full only a few times in ten years, though I regularly reread select chapters and love reading the scholarship-- there's a wealth of it on the internet.
Tangerine Dream also made an album about it!
and I love this guy's illustrations:

I'm disposed to believe the Ellmann biography when it describes Joyce as being pretty serious about the Wake, and getting downright hurt when people assume he was having a joke or writing nonsense. The book has a lot of structure and meaning to it, it's just.. buried in the past. It's like poetry.
amtsadam, sir, to you. <3
aaaand okay I feel like I've done a lot of plugging.
I love talking about my stuff. love it. but I am conscious of the fact that no one asked. ^^;;
the point is that's where I've been. what I've been up to.
hello again bluesky.
I hope I can figure this place out.
and, then, as for the youtube thing.
well it's mainly been Let's Plays.
the best one has been Silent Hill 2. I played the remake recently. adored it.
and you can find that.. here!

(continued from prev)
and uh here is where you can hear the thing. my website has a lot more music from this project in it, plus commentary. but I have even more music not yet ready for Website release yet.

what else to share.
I guess I can show off the song.
here's the art by RealaChao, a mockup for the front and back of a fictional CD case. this fits the music, as it's ultimately computer music, fundamentally midi at heart, but playing the role of a fictional rock band. it's a whole project.
(next..)
I'm still waiting to get to the part of the story where *this* beautiful thing becomes relevant, though. this was a sketch by old friend Rappu at least 10 years ago, and last year I was able to digitize it and turn it into this thing.
another bit of art for my story. this one's all RealaChao.
the stuff I inspire others to make is.. honestly one of the best things... it motivates me, it excites me, it makes me feel like I did something good.
art that corresponds with the 130,000 words I wrote this year. all those words were just act 2 of a big internet story. this art is by my friend RealaChao, though for once this was very much a collaboration between us.

that link will take you to the story.
raaagh. hello. I'm still alive.
I have still been creating. actually created a lot of things this year. I wrote over 130,000 words in two months, I did a lot of web work, I wrote and released a 20-minute prog rock song, and I've made like 20 new youtube videos.
and! I got a girlfriend.
y'know what. twitter really did a number on my brain. I'd post things there and shout into the void. I suspected my reach was throttled, did not help my socially-starved brain.
I was not prepared for people to actually, like, Read My Words and reply to me.
this place is. nice.
so uh. I recently got the Yume Nikki soundtrack on vinyl, off of fangamer dot com. I'm proud to put it with my Genesis, and my King Crimson, and my ELP, and my.. all the rest of it.
listening to this on vinyl is like being in a David Lynch movie.
I get it. I barged in here and started snarking the Way We Do Things Here.
....and I apologize for curtness.
the truth is, when I force myself to be concise, I lose fine-control over my tone of voice, and I default to spiky, thorny, argue-y. to compensate. and that's really where the bugs up my ass come from regarding all this.
it's not your fault, nor your problem. thanks
noted.
you don't need to act like "pages and pages of text" is a noteworthy imposition, though. it's kinda the default mode, and microblogging is the oddity. humanity has long had the ability to read Many Things. we do it on this site, even, since *reading* has no character limit.
(and sometimes smarter people than us *do* value conciseness. but they generally don't *need* an external tool to *make* them concentrate. and if they're *smart*, they know it's unwise to force everyone else to abide by the same restrictions.)
