After Bush we almost got 12 years of the GOP losing control of the presidency had the electoral college not handed Trump the win. With the numbers being even worse this time a 16 year streak is, while incredibly optimistic, not entirely off the table.

Of course that'd be very, very optimistic, but it could be on the table if Trump continues tanking his own, and by extension, the GOP's approval numbers and we get a strong progressive to win in 2028.

It's very good that his approval is dropping so much.

If it continues to get lower we could feasibly get up to 16 years of the GOP being pushed out of power - we nearly got 12 after Bush with similar numbers, had the electoral college not given Trump the win.
