And, I’m no dev but I feel “cool factor” is tougher to come up with than polish.

Maybe because I may or may not have had drinks during the day but I’ve had the realization I’ve likely entered my middle-aged white man arc because I enjoy candles and music playing in the home phase.

(I’ve always liked candles and music in homes since I was a kid but yeah)

And yeah, just overall performance and game feel. Polished is an under used word when critiquing this game.

I’ve done QA for many years, including certification testing, so I naturally pick up on random things.

This game was so rock solid at launch it kind of upset me lol. Only notable issue I encountered was an audio bug that was resolved by switching zones lol.

Follow-up. Just got the true ending organically, which might be a first for me in a game.

I think I just outright love this game. The post-game content is so well done. Highly recommend trying it if you enjoyed the base game.

Early Twitter days were pretty magical when it felt like friends meeting up from old forums before corporations saw value in that place.

My order of what I’ve played would be Suikoden 2 > Eiyuden > Suikoden 1.

But I haven’t played any of the others 😔

I enjoyed it but think I was in a good headspace for it. Cause it’s definitely a slow burn. Ramps up more story wise and gameplay wise once you get into base building.

In the end I have it on par with Suikoden 1 and 2 honestly. Just took longer to get through.

Beat my first playthrough.

I feel like this game was engineered for me. Like Capcom analyzed all the arcade-y goodness I loved growing up and sculpted this game with it.

More than just raw gameplay, the UI, the sound effects, everything “hit” for me.

And that finale.

First session in, I’m in love.

The game feel, visuals, aesthetic, level design, the MUSIC. This is semi-linear arcade-y bliss to me.

Feels like one heap of RE4, a tsp of Vanquish, a tsp of Stellar Blade, a dash of Exoprimal and a huge helping of its own magic.
