Dopamine activity encodes the changing valence of the same stimulus in conditioned taste aversion paradigms Phasic dopamine cell body activity and release in the nucleus accumbens differentially respond to the taste of sucrose in correlation with its hedonic valuation.

I don’t always post on social media…but when I do, it’s to share our new pub in #elife! Via conditioned taste aversion paradigm, we show dopamine and behavior responses to an intraorally delivered sucrose when sucrose is appetitive versus aversive. Fav part: the dopamine to behavior correlations!
