Framing a drop in teen pregnancy as the key “problem” for any social issue you’re talking about is possibly the most deeply scarlet red flag I’ve ever seen. 😳

OH HELL YES. NEIL GORSUCH, THE LAST JUSTICE OF THE MOCHICANS, ASKS "Do you think Native Americans are citizens of the united states."
IF YOU TRIP GORSUCH'S NATIVE AMERICAN WIRES, YOU LOSE. GOOD DAY, SIR!
Look, if you’re going to claim being a prophet for Jesus, you have to dress the part. High priestess, etc
I am SCREAMING at the Newt Gingrich tweet 💀💀💀
I listened last night on my walk—it was excellent company. I feel like I need to rewatch again in order to ingest everything; she had so much good information!
Less than $1 million dollars in donations for a school that I’m assuming takes billions of dollars to operate. 🫠 And yet the illustration is “raining” money. 🤦🏻♀️
This reminds me of an older couple I knew who wintered in southern TX. One time they had to go to the hospital while there. “Ugh, everyone was speaking Spanish, it felt like a 3rd world country.” Um, firstly, super racist, secondly…it’s TX. You’re shocked there are lots of Spanish speakers?! 🤦🏻♀️
“Gotta” have money for war, but can’t be bothered to fund things like healthcare. Got it. 🙄
This is a very interesting book so far.
This is so beautiful! I love the oval shape of the canvas.
I agree—a strange/dishonest argument. I can easily learn about him in history books. He was a gifted military tactician AND a racist treason weasel. I don’t understand why it’s hard to comprehend both sans statuary. Thanks a lot, Daughters of the Confederacy. 🙄
He’s looking around perplexed, trying to figure out how this could’ve happened! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Yes. Thiel’s bizarre invocation of Christ in his defense feels, to a degree, similar to the materialist weaponization of Christ in the (popular!) 1920s book The Man Nobody Knows. The author (Bruce Barton) was a millionaire, not a billionaire, but even so…an interesting similarity of argumentation.
This is stupid, but it’s also a perfect example of self-fulfilling prophecy. “I believed these allies were untrustworthy, so I asked them to do something staggeringly insane as a test, and when they said no (?!) that was proof for my belief that they’re bad.” Classic abuser language, too.
I’m watching a version of this unfold w/a Trump-voter FB acquaintance. She’s openly horrified about Epstein Files & needless military death, but can’t admit her complicity. She’s now posting things that are mournful/upset, but still with no direct GOP break/criticism. Ma’am, you voted for this. 🫠
I’m skeptical that his bones are informed by meaningful intelligence info, given that one of Tulsi’s top aides just resigned in protest over this war that he felt was unnecessary and bungled 🫠🙄😵💫
This sounds silly (consumers not part of the economy), but there is an entire economic school of thought that prides itself on seeing the economy as this bloodless, separate entity from the world it serves. Reasoning like this allows you to disconnect from suffering by claiming “rationality.”
Framing consumers as an unimportant and disposable side show to the economy? It’s so clownish and stupid.
Citation needed 🙄
I’ve actually been watching the deposition videos and they’re fascinating, though in a depressing way. Deeply uninformed young men, but with utter confidence nonetheless. A really troubling combination.
My seventh grade self (who spent weeks learning the appropriate way to label the nesting dolls that are outline sections) is physically revolted by this.
I’m genuinely fascinated about the emotional/psychological connection some American men have to “the truck.” It’s an identity icon; an avatar for…masculinity? Affluence? Idk for sure, but I need somebody with the right degrees to write that book ASAP 😂
That was the part that really took me out. Gave this whole little monologue about “reading can make you informed enough,” and then with a single follow up question made it clear that he didn’t read a damn thing. 🫠🫠🫠
That part. He tried to mumble it away at the end, but that’s the real goal here.
My dad was in the army and I married an AF man, so my entire life has been a series of these moments, experienced at different ages and energy levels. 🤣
Nightmare fuel! 😱
I always think about Rose Wilder Lane when writing vs. editing comes up. She was a brilliant editor (arguably a big part of the success of her mother’s books), but omg, that lady was not a great writer. Her own books were barely passable. Two different skill sets. 🤣
I hadn’t been on X in literal months and went on a few days ago to fact check a post. Holy BANANAS, that place is an absolute cesspool of bots and alt-right propaganda posts 😳😳😳
I mean, who among us hasn’t accidentally used quotation marks in hitherto unknown ways on legal documents in order to spice things up? An understandable mistake; we’ve all been there. 🫠
A next generation leader more ideologically extreme than his dad and probably even more calcified into hating the United States b/c our hits killed his wife. Great plan. 🫠
