Hi! I guess you must not be familiar with the golden rule of fandom! If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Hope that helps!
Atypical Family legit made me cry, it's so good on every single level.
WTPR was fun but so unserious, lol
Destroy #Meta! ππΌ
Right? I was so excited about it but when I read that, I immediately noped out
The apology is appreciated. Thanks for taking time to explain; it's heartening to have a humble conversation about this subject. And at heart, we're all on the same side, here -- we hate gen AI for the same reasons and we all know (or are) people who have lost work because of AI.
Digital artists are also losing jobs and going broke because of gen AI. It's not just trad artists.
You're showing your own ignorance about the artistry of digital painting. You should stay out of this fight.
We're also upset about gen AI. But don't tell us we're not making art when you don't even know how we work. Painters use brushes and paint; we use styluses and bits of light.
She uses a stylus and freehands everything! It's exactly like drawing, except the medium is light, not ink or paint.
Have you never seen someone paint digitally? It uses the exact same theory that painters and illustrators have to master and takes years of practice to get to Cello's level. Digital painting is to gen AI slop as trad painting is to printing a copy of the Mona Lisa on an HP inkjet home printer.
Cello's been painting photorealistic portraits since long before the rise of gen AI slop. If you'd done two seconds of research on her you could've found that out. Don't let your hatred of gen AI cause you to turn on the incredible artists it's already hurting! You owe her an apology.
You're right. As an evangelical I was also raised to understand that the church is universal and that we are indeed all brothers & sisters under Christ, while experiencing the exact opposite behavior modeled for me. Makes it hard to find a church I can trust tbh and it's something I grieve a lot
Sacred music. I've been in music ministry for 24 years, playing and singing, solo, in choirs, and in contemporary ensembles. Canon hymns, chanted psalms, roots worship, gospel -- singing with a congregation is one of my greatest joys!
Cover of the zine "A Librarian Against AI; or, I Think AI Should Leave", featuring a design of bold color blocks inspired by the opening titles of the TV show "I Think You Should Leave"
π£ New zine!! "A Librarian Against AI; or, I Think AI Should Leave" is a 40-page zine about why we should think twice about using & supporting generative AI. violetbfox.info/against-ai/ #noAI #zines
MOTHER??!!
Babes WHY would you go to Duluth in FEBRUARY
Korean language. I've been self studying since 2021; it's my 3rd language. I'm fascinated by the way language shapes culture and vice versa. Learning another language is kind of like looking in a mirror - it tends to reveal a lot about yourself & your culture you never would've noticed otherwise.
Top hyperfixation is K-dramas. I've watched almost nothing but Korean films and shows for the last 4.5 years! I'm a big fan of Joseon period dramas and tend to gravitate toward anything with a historical bent. Fav actor: Lee Jung-jae; fav actress: Shin Hye-sun.
gonna be petty for a moment but dlf has every film project blowing up meanwhile there is a subset of the fandom causing branding changes for social media websites and publishing industry trends entirely because the company failed to deliver a product. easy solution to their problem lol.
the use of the history of Japanese internment as a manual rather than as a cautionary tale really sums up where we're at politically
Soulmates AU where we all leave twitter and find each other on BlueSky

The good news is that a lot of the βfreeβ (thereβs ads) apps have a ton of older content, Tubi, Pluto, Freevee etc are full of great media from pre 1980

Jfc. At least at this point they can still say no....
It was SO plush and velvety!! Dad hated it and tried for years to grow actual grass but we loved it and were lowkey happy that the grass always failed. π
See, this makes sense...
Moss lawns! Where I grew up, the soil was too acidic for grass to grow so we had moss and wild onions! Loved it.
