COP 29: agreed to 300 billion annually for climate loss & adaptation assistance through 2035. For context, Hurricane Katrina resulted in 200 billion in damage in 2005. Even then, it’s a commitment of private or multilateral funds that states don’t directly control, & often using market-rate loans.
