you owe it to your children to always be too early for a flight so someday they can feel a sense of achievement about going to the airport later than you

cutting it close as a solo traveler is one thing, doing it with a family is insane

my take is get to the airport when you want but if you don't know how to fill 30 extra minutes with a book or a laptop, that seems like a skill issue

surprised that Bluesky hasn't gotten to "telling people to risk the anxiety of missing their flights is ableist" but I'm sure it'll happen soon enough

I think this is correct. Congress gave Trump the personalist, violent paramilitary force he's always wanted, but without the statutory hurdles, internal accountability, resistance from the courts, and institutional pushback that would come with deploying the actual military.
