In 1465, Jewish conversos from Toledo, re-settled in Egypt, had to chose between Rabbanism and Qaraism.
When eventually Qaraism pervailed, with permission from the Muslim authorities, Qaraites mocked Rabbanites claiming they distort God's words, and permit anal sex.

And there was much rejoycing.

A court deed from Cairo, probably 1209 AD.
Nūr al-dīn ʿAlī b. Ibrāhīm b. Ṣadaqa buys from the Coptic patriarch a ruined property in maṣūṣa in Fustat.

He then sells it to Ibrāhīm b. Sayyār, the Karaite Jew (al-yahūdī al-qarā).
