Sam and Wander with protest signs: "Schoolhouse Rock taught me: No More Kings" and "Trans people have/will always been here!!! You can't erase us"
If I have to get off the JoCo Cruise, going right to the No Kings rally in San Diego is a good option. Compassion, chanting, singing, cosplay, and support for the community at the rally, and it felt like that was exactly what we were practicing all week.
Me, Thomas, Sheri, Marina, Sam, and Spencer. Wander had to cut out early to finish a paper due by midnight.
We came down to San Diego a bit early for the cruise, so I got to have a bit of fun yesterday. I tried the Midway (while Wander worked to finish homework), then we both got to have a great dinner with Spencer, Sheri, Sam, Thomas, & Marina. Next stop, a week on a NerdBoat!
Packing for the JoCo Cruise (we fly down to San Diego tonight), and wanted something to have on the TV that didn't need too much attention. I found out that Paramount+ has The Love Boat available and decided that seems like an appropriate watch to get me in the mood for the ocean life.
Sam and LaRae
Sam, LaRae, Steve, Emma, and Ashlyn
On Monday, I got to have a wonderful afternoon with SF tourists: my cousin LaRae, her husband, and two daughters. It was delightful meeting them & catching up with her for the first time in roughly a decade-and-a-half. It was way too short, and I'm hopeful we can continue the gabfest sometime soon.
A cute Shih-Tzu holding a dagger toy, looking for something to stab.
Frodo has really gotten into the spirit of the Ides of March!
Playbill, ticket, and program for Spamalot
Super excited for tonight's show; I haven't seen it since Rick visited 15-ish years ago!
Happy Fastnacht Day! 🍩
Playbill, ticket, and stage for The Notebook: The Musical
Tonight's show.
He's now having fun walking across areas with stuff on them and having his cone knock over as much as it can. "Oops, did I knock that over? I wouldn't have if I weren't wearing this cone."
Norm, a tuxedo cat, is wearing a space-themed "Cone of Shame." He does not look pleased.
Norm, a tuxedo cat, is trying -- with limited success -- to relax while wearing a space-themed "Cone of Shame."
Norm has had a couple of hot spots lately, and we figured that putting a Cone of Shame on him might protect them from his scratching/over-cleaning, and give them a chance to fully heal.
Norm isn't fond of this plan.
Oh wow, was the new Muppet Show special a wonderful experience! Exactly what I wanted. Disney better order a whole season or three right now!
Seuss, an orange cat, stretched out on the carpet, looking off to the right of the frame.
Seuss, an orange cat, looking somewhat startled, and dramatically backlit.
Seuss, an orange cat, sits in a chair blocking our view of Norm, behind him.
Little baby kitten Seuss, eating off of a plate and letting a human touch him, for one of the rare times.
Sad day today; my kitty, Seuss, passed away last night after a six-month battle with cancer. He may have been a dumb, orange cat who wasn't fond of human interaction, but on the rare occasions that he let me touch him, I learned that he had the softest ears & a wonderful purr. I'll miss his hisses.
I'm with Gwen tonight attending the Riffapalooza show as part of SF Sketchfest. We started the evening with a delicious dinner at the oldest Dim Sum restaurant in the country. I love that I live someplace with such great comedy options and such a wonderful Chinatown.
For $60 million a year, I would gladly let you call me a coward.
What a wonderful start to 2026; I got a surprise DM from Spencer late last night that he wrangled a short leave & was on his way back to SF.
He apparently arrived here around 4am and woke up shortly after I did late this morning. We played some games, watched a movie, and enjoyed dinner together.
Enjoying a fun Christmas movie marathon today with Die Hard, Gremlins, Trading Places, and Jim Carrey's How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Hope everyone else has also had a good day, whatever it may have involved for you.
It can be exciting living directly on the San Andreas Fault; we just felt a long, rumbling 3.2 magnitude earthquake that was centered just a mile or two from our house! No damage, but we all (pets included) were looking around to make sure all was OK.

Aw, the guy who invented Lite Brite, Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots, and MouseTrap has passed away. 3 wonderful toys -- thanks for all the fun, Burt!

Fantastic. One of the best shows I've seen!
Playbill and curtain for Suffs.
Another show I've really been looking forward to!
Maybe not the absolute *best* news I've heard in the last 24 hours, but this is certainly exciting to hear; there is a Miss Piggy movie in the works with Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence producing (and likely appearing in).

Ticket, Playbill, and stage for Stereophonic
I've been looking forward to tonight's show ever since they announced it!
Back-to-back!
Congrats to the Blue Jays -- a fantastic and worthy team, and 100% class acts. It's a shame that both teams couldn't win.
Regardless of what happens in extra innings, this World Series has been one of the most epic ones ever.
That said, Go Dodgers! Let's bring the trophy back home!

Yes, it was exactly as terrific of a Disney visit as I hoped for!
I did! It was my first time there, and it was amazing! Seeing the Falcon in person was exactly what I needed!
Oh, I almost forgot that we walked through the Treehouse (which may not have been the smartest idea, as our legs weren't thrilled by all the climbing of stairs on top of all the walking we did).
