BREAKING: A few minutes ago, a vehicle of three people was rammed by a truck belonging to federal immigration authorities in Boyle Heights, CA. According to security footage shown to me, they deployed chemical munitions & detained the driver at gunpoint. All are US citizens according to the wife.

A nine year old boy in Compton was killed. At this point the alleged killer is his father. The boy was a child living with autism. His mother shared that she was working, like all parents who love and raise their kids, to teach the child how to live a full and independent life. RIP

I think we need to come together and study project 2025 together and create teaching and learning materials. We have to make these available in Spanish, too. We may want to make these lectures available, too. Do them in person in community spaces.

It’s also important to create and organize safe containers and touchstone points where folks can feel connected and grounded. As safe as possible and talk about what is required to animate trust and connection. Deliberate work. Intentional connections.

Just had a meeting where folks were able to break a bit. To let out their fears, their concerns, their rage, and anxieties of what is on the horizon. As educators, organizers, and within any other capacity that serves broad swaths of folks it’s imperative to model letting things out.

My paternal grandmother ended up taking over a narco’s ranch and home decades ago. Eventually, the daughters of that dude came back to get it. Then, in her late 70s and into her 80s, she was arrested multiple times tryna defend her right to the land.
