I love this movie. Despite its age, the special effects still look incredible to this day. One of the best genre films of its era, and of all time for me.

I need to watch this again soon.

Thank you for doing this Emmie! That was super interesting. Even learned a few things about my own writing. Like, I'd never noticed the thing about contracts/promises, that was amazing lol.

Unless they're just full of shit, which wouldn't surprise me at this point, considering the stuff they've posted in Victoria's thread.

Money. Not right away, though. Usually there will be some fake interaction first (now made easier with GenAI) and then they'll ask for a small fee to highlight your book or whatnot. They'll come up with something for sure--they always do.

Yeah, it's perfectly fine so long as he doesn't pay reviewers. Which is why the question "why do you ask so much?" is so important. I'd be more understanding if he actually paid reviewers, but he's not allowed to do that, so...?

3 months ago 1 0 0 0

Point is, you ARE a "paid review service" and, as you also put it on the website, paid reviews are "against the terms of the sites they’re likely to be posted on."

3 months ago 2 0 1 0

4 figures to develop that site? Dude, I could have made that for $0. All it takes is time (barring hosting fees, but you're not counting that, and that's not 4 figures either anyway). So are you really saying your time is worth 4 figures?

I know time is worth money, but this is pushing it :D

3 months ago 2 0 0 0

Kind of ironic how you say on the website "This is not a paid review service" and then go and ask for money.

Authors don't even sell books for £35 (that's $47) so asking for that much is preposterous.
