I'm playing so much Victoria 3 that my brain is only thinking in economics and diplomacy
Although my first play was full war with my neighbour π

First 10 minutes Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age and I'm already amazed by the visuals
I'm increasingly convinced that they used time machines to film this, the magic behind the animation is beyond my comprehension
I may be late for this, but I just watched a video and am reading a publication that has filled me with fear and anxiety like nothing else before in my life
If I can contribute even a little to a better future, I think it's worth sharing this information

Sailor Mars shopping-cart surfing with the caption: if you see someone stealing food, no you didn't.
Hey.
The concept of half-races has always been weird for me, but is not something I would eliminate for my players so I understand having to homebrew them back in haha
My group is very open so I don't worry about them, it's more like I don't want to give them less options just for the sake of playing the ultimate version
Question for the internets
Opinion about D&D 5e 2014 vs 2024?
I have read the changes in general but I'm still not sure about changing rules. I'm playing in a campaign with some of the 2024 changes but too little to measure the difference.
All answers are welcome like always π¦
My 10 games to get to know me (I'm always late to this things)
Well, I have 4 players for my new D&D campaign...
LET'S GOOOOO π₯³π₯³π₯³
I hope they like political intrigue mix with dinosaur adventures π
An hour long!??
www.youtube.com/watch?v=emdk...
Sometimes I don't make any progress for days, other times I do almost the entire pitch for my D&D campaign in an hour.
Why do I have to be like this? π«
My group is like this, I'm sure that if we play a system better suit for the social aspect we will be happy
But D&D does the work, we all know it well and it is comfortable to change when it needs
It is like modding a videogame to the point it looks like another game, but you just want that game
I understand that trying out systems for different play styles is better, but sometimes people just want a foundation and to do whatever they want with it
The system, at least in my experience, is not vital when it comes to telling a story, but it can guide it better if it is appropriate for it
I have seen comments that it does not make much sense to create adventures focused on cosy and romance in D&D, given that the system does not support that type of game
My opinion is that D&D is often simply the system that a group feels most comfortable with when delving into new things
Well I could start with a one-shot and see how my group take the premise, then if it goes well I can extend it to a full campaign
More than anything else, it's about what role they should play in the story. I would like them to be central, not just a tangential element
But also I don't know how far a premise like that can go
That sounds awesome
But I don't think my players would join something like that π
I'm really struggling to find a purpose or theme for my new world for the next D&D campaign π
All I know is that I want dinosaurs and that they should be important to the setting, but beyond that I'm stuck
Playing Baldur's Gate 3 with a friend that has already played it several times and I'm discovering some many things that I didn't find in my first game
Also, roleplaying our characters is so much fun with someone else equally crazy π€―
I would allow this, is cool in flavour and monks already struggled to choose between high Dex Con or Wis
I think you've summed up my experience with ttrpg in just a paragraph π I love learning about mechanics and theorizing about how to use them to tell stories, but the most fun and memorable moments have been simply roleplaying with my friends with almost no use of mechanics
Si ya tienes esta alegria solo por crear tu personaje te aseguro que te la pasaran increible con el juego, mucha suerte !! π
PD: Veo un patron de que toda la gente nueva en bg3 se hace un tiefling, yo incluido π
One of the few things I know I'm going to put in my D&D world is that everyone is bisexual until proven otherwise ππ³οΈβπ
I think it's an attempt to have each species define things that are more biological rather than cultural, but I would like to have more examples of cultures for each species. No matter how varied they may be, a predominantly elven culture will be different from a predominantly human or dwarven one
Sorry for the delay, thank you very much for the recommendation. I've started reading it and wow, it's really useful!! It's a new way of looking at the process of creating a world in D&D π
Does anyone have or know of a guide or list of things to start creating a setting for an RPG?
I'm just starting a worldbuilding project from scratch for my D&D campaign, but I feel pretty lost as to where to start or what to focus on beyond my initial idea π
Today is roleplay day, with my favorite group playing Anima
Time to be a soft viking warrior βοΈβΊοΈ
That's a good idea, I don't worry about humans at least if none of my players pick one haha
It would be too crazy not to have humans in a fantasy setting?? Playing with some ideas for my new D&D campaign π
