and in the meantime, Lucas da Cunha Godoy led the development of an R package "drmr" to generalize these models into more flexible methods: doi.org/10.32942/X2V...

I won't be at SOTM2026 sadly, but find Malin Pinsky to ask him about either of these (or many other) projects.

has anyone been able to use AI to identify newly-published papers that are relevant to their work? I've never come up with a coherent list of keywords for what I do so I waste a ton of time skimming journal TOCs.

Trump has cut legal immigration more than illegal immigration, as I predicted. While illegal entries have fallen, they continued a prior trend, falling more before he came back. Meanwhile, Trump has drastically cut legal entries, reversing the prior upward trend. www.cato.org/blog/trump-h...

Wildlife trade drives animal-to-human pathogen transmission over 40 years

New in @science.org ‼️ In the most comprehensive study to date, we show that wildlife trade is driving animal-to-human zoonotic spillover at a planetary scale, with +1 spillover per host every 10 years. Live animal markets and illegal trade pose even greater risks. 🔓 www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
