Xander (L) and Quincy (R) met once before in life. This photo was taken in May 2022. Now they are foster brothers. They play (& fight) like born brothers.

Dean Koontz is absolutely right.
I love the books that Heโ€™s written from a canine point of view.

This is a dumb question from the mom of one schnauzer and new foster mom of a second schnauzer: does stripping hurt?

4 months ago 2 0 1 0

Xander says he can hardly wait for his beard to grow back in again. He was not a happy camper, having to have a scrub down & a complete shave, except that it was a good start to a new home. His mama is very sick, & he has come to stay with Quincy until she is well again, no matter how long it takes

Xander and Quincy would definitely agree.

I've had about six months of health challenges that culminated in a rather dramatic collapse.
Yesterday, I finally went to my family doctor after weeks of being bounced from specialist to specialist at her behest. She looked me in the eye and asked me how I feel now.
I told her that I actually feel pretty good, but the endless stream of doctors has been challenging. The only ones left to see are the team at Sunnybrook and that is still several weeks away.
She gave me the first smile I've seen for a long while and said that she was really super pleased with all my results AND my progress. Then she repeated something that had surprised me before, โ€œWe almost lost you, you know.โ€
That part still didn't sink in until a few hours later when I was called to attend another family in ICU. A nurse that I simply didn't recognize at all remarked on how good my colour is now. It turns out that she was the one who caught me when I went down.
โ€œYou are SO lucky you just happened to be called in that day. If you had been at home, you would simply not BE any more.โ€
I was in anaphylaxis, bordering on shock, further complicated by a blocked artery, a faulty heart valve AND the hitherto undiagnosed diabetes. It really was a perfect storm.

So here I am, heading into Saint Nicholas Day, like a walking miracle. Of all the gifts I have ever been given, this one is the best.

Happy Saint Nicholas Day, everyone

Spotify Wrapped was stolen from a young Black woman interning at the company with a good ideaโ€“ just like way too many other products and services throughout our history.

Corporate greed is theft by nature. Socializing many of these industries is the only way to solve it.

You have got to be kidding! Puerto Rico is brown people. You canโ€™t have brown people or a brown state in a white country.

FYI I must warn you that this is irony.

my 11 month old brown grandniece is probably smarter than the orange tangerine
