Yes, sadly gave people false hope. Apparently being first is more important than being accurate. Radio chatter from first responders that is not confirmed by 2nd and 3rd sources is not journalism. But what do I know. (FWIW, I think the reports were from McClatchy, not Wichita reporters.)
