Derek’s father died from oligometastatic #ProstateCancer, before Derek was diagnosed with the disease himself some years later.

After his surgery, Derek began volunteering for @prostatecanceruk.bsky.social and served as a patient representative on our research committees for over 10 years.

Our first Patient Research Partner today is Vincent.

Shortly after retiring, he was diagnosed with #ProstateCancer, with no symptoms beforehand.

After a radical robotic prostatectomy and excellent care, he achieved a curative outcome with minimal side effects.

Sue’s husband was diagnosed with #ProstateCancer at 52.

After running out of licensed treatment options, he joined a Phase 3 abiraterone trial that extended his life and improved his quality of life.

It inspired Sue’s passion for research, early diagnosis and better treatment.
