This week on Dice Exploder it's four mini episodes in one!
@gigantic-spider.bsky.social
and I talk about The Awards, the niche indie rpg awards show they facilitate. We get into why ranking things is dumb but fun, and then some of our favorite mechanics from the last The Awards' winners.

A gold copy of Heroes of Cerulea by Lucas Falk. The book and box give a nod to the gold Legends of Zelda NES cartridge. It features pixelated adventurers at the top above the name and credits
3. Heroes of Cerulea by @ceruleanfive.bsky.social is one of my latest acquisitions. I had the pleasure of playing it live as a promo to the kickstarter in the Victory Condition Gaming channel. It is heavily Legends of Zelda themed and is a dungeon crawl rpg that is a gigantic NES nostalgia bomb.
We were inspired by @yochaigal.bsky.social whose business card has a dungeon by @skullfungus.bsky.social.
White heading: "Booth 12109". Two books: Heroes of Cerulea, Knight Forlorn. Two logos: Indie Press Revolution, PAX East.
At @officialpax.bsky.social East?
You can get Heroes of Cerulea and Knight Forlorn—and many great titles—at the Pandemonium Books and Games booth (12109), courtesy of @ipr.bsky.social!
Many thanks! It's not the DEEPEST game we've designed, but it FITS.
A photo of two business cards on a wooden table—front and back. On the front is an octopus logo and the text ”Bläckfisk Publishing, blackfiskpublishing.com”. On the back is a minimalist story game called ”A Day in the Deep”.
We needed new business cards for the convention season. Everyone always looks at the back, so we felt we needed to put something there too.
Come get one!

A photo of 25 pamphlets with vibrant colors against a wood background.
For some reason, I wrote, illustrated, and did layout for a pamphlet a day for a while.

Some things I found interesting about the process:
🌸
Cover for the solo, duet or group TTRPG: Knight Forlorn. Drawing of a knight standing with sword in one hand and a shield in another, in front of a pink-almost-bloody coloured field of war with the entrance of a city under attack from black winged silhouettes above
New to the #SoloRPG List: Knight Forlorn from @blackfiskpub.bsky.social
A storytelling game about a lone wanderer on a futile quest in a withering world.

The cover of Knight Forlorn: A storytelling game about a lone wanderer on a futile quest in a withering world, by Lucas Falk and Bläckfisk Publishing. The title is stark white calligraphy agains a pink image of a knight in standing in fog, their sword drawn, approaching a bunch of crumbling buildings
An interior example from Knight Forlorn. On the lefthand page, an image of a large full pink moon looming beside the character. The heading says Ending The Game and includes a short description. The righthand page begins the list of possible Encounters. This page lists encounters for drawing the suit of hearts - Ace, two, and three. The encounters are all with NPCs/people (Puck the Jackal, Wolfram the Hunter, Frieda the Pilferer)
Cheers to a drop weekend! New stuff's in the shop, like...

Many thanks for stocking our game!
(You can actually have more than 3 players—the Chorus can be multiple people.)

IT'S A DROP DAY! NEW STUFF'S IN THE SHOP! A bonanza of sci-fi world building. Bonsai and bees and forlorn knights. Skateboard witches and wild roommates. Tiny dice, tiny dice trays, badass motorcycle babes who live in your mind. Heisting pigeons and Texas Hold 'Em monster fights
