rage agAInst the machine!

I wonder how long that call had been passed on through generations of boys, and whether it's still used...
And typing that, I realise that that yodel is where the 'call' in my song here comes from, around the 1 min mark...

On 'kulning' the Scandi herding call that's all the rage now...
- My dad had a particular whistle to call us if wandered off in a crowd. I'd still react to that one, I'm sure.
- As boys we'd a 'yodel' to get each other's attention across the street - evolved, I think, because it'd carry far.
Worth reading!
My thought is that if you use AI to cut out steps of the process, you risk completely losing touch with the project, and get disengaged.
Send your child away for others to raise, and it'll return a stranger to you.
For a moment I thought that with "that dreadful technology" you meant "your brain"... I love the article! And indeed: boo to slop machines!
Algea suck, in the wrong place. We'd a pretty big "this is not normal!" about our Lough Neagh...

B5 is definitely up in the top (despite the low budget spin-offs), next to Farscape.
Nice weather, so took a few hours off, first a 7.7k run, then hanging out in the park with a pal. Home to feed Brandy and myself, then back to the park with my skates...
It was a good day!
...And I assume you don't mean the improvisational singing style...
But are those the worst songs? They've given people joy, so they can't be worse than -say- the Shark Song or the Venga Bus? (Though they've arguably also given certain people joy)...
I remember seeing one of the sequels that had just 2.5 Cenobite in, glanced from the other side of the street... The quality definitely tanked.
Happy anniversary! :-)
Here's more extensive one about the 2nd person, which I found quite revealing. (I used 2nd p in a poem recently, which I guess would be close to epic)

When we're having a moment like that, we're not in the best place to realise we're having a moment.
When I had an (unrelated) melt-down a while ago, afterwards it was all clear, and yet it took friends to talk me out of it.
It never occurred to me to do it on purpose.
But I will try it—thanks.
🔥this.🔥
Yes, I was indeed thinking: "What is the point of this?"
Fun little illustration I did some years ago...
Very good! Chilling... This would work as well, set in Belfast.
And back home, Brandy was overjoyed to see me.
Ended my run at Botanic, and had a nice walk to the centre where I took the bus home.
A tough stop-start 10k run today, with hay fever and steep bits throwing me off my pace. Still, it averaged out okay, and it was fair weather.
Just started watching M. Night's "Knock at the Cabin" and realises it's going to be like a Michael Haneke film, but with some glurge.
So that's a firm no for me.
I hope that's not as painful as it sounds, though it probably is.
I'd kidney stones years ago, and it was the worst pain I've ever been in.
That sounds excellent! Having a quick look, I see that there's plenty going on - good luck! :-)
Glad to see you're okay-ish, and hope that you go from surviving to thriving!
When my life broke down a few years ago, the best thing that happened was finding a local community to be part of (open mic), and build friendships from there.
HUMAN ARTIST, use only one piece to convince people to follow you.
(I don't do much art these days, so follow the thread for some awesome artists!)
Bit of a dud day...
Was going to play at an open mic, but sawed in my finger - not badly but very bleedy. Instead went for a walk and picked up enough pollen to cancel the evening's plans.
On the upshot: got some sun, bought books, talked with a pal, hung out with Brandy.
Absolutely celebrate the small wins.
